IIRC when I was shopping around for mine awhile ago, only the '99 had the 4 spokes, all the '00-'01 seemed to have the 3 spokes.

May have been ordered that way, but I know the 4 spoke was standard when we ordered our 01. Though we did upgrade it to the leather version.

Prices for Aeros seem to be high lately Gator. Maybe your low price is turning people off

Strip the race pics and put it back up for $30k and I bet the offers start pouring in

Gator, if yours had been for sale when I was looking, I would have bought it in a heart beat!

I marketed it as not as racy this time. I had it too high last time and now too low. Parting it out seems like a good option. At least i can get out my frustrations my tearing pieces out of it.

Gator: If you can sell my 996TT for me for $45,000, I'll turn around and buy your car. I'm dead serious - I just don't want the hassle of trying to sell mine. I'd be just as happy with your car as I am with the turbo, plus I'd have 29,000 other reasons to soothe the disappointment of losing the 200 hp that I rarely use anyway. There are guys over on the turbo forum that are convinced a car like mine should bring $50,000 in a heartbeat. It amazes me that people will pay so much more for a turbo when a car like yours is on the market for a pittance. They are both 996s. You guys may be tired of me saying it by now, but after having owned a '99 C4 coupe and a '02 996TT X50, the '99 was 98% of the turbo experience for 40% of the cost.

You definitely don't want me selling your car Jeff! I am the worst at it. I am good at buying but hate, hate, hate selling cars. Did I mention that I hate selling cars? Hate it!!

Are you trying to compete with Groovy for turning over cars?

Are you seriously looking to sell it already?

I'd be interested if it wasn't for the god awful color

Gator (and anyone else reading this), listen to KC, he is right. I've see, driven, and like your car. Said so once, and I'll say it again. It will make someone a very nice car, but your focus should be on making it a really nice $15-18k car. Strip out the cage, fix the headliner, detail it inside and out.

On the mileage side, I'd offer to refund the cost of the PPI (up to a reasonable limit) if you and a buyer agree on a price and it doesn't measure up. Shows your confidence and limits a buyer's risk (especially out of the area buyers).

Pay someone to shoot 12-20 glamour pics showing detail. Paint gloss, wheels, interior, and a few flaws for credibility sake. I know someone in North FL who does excellent work and can hook you up. Again full disclosure helps mitigate doubts.

Finally, take it national with a wide audience. Autotrader, CarGurus, Ebay with a reasonable BIN, and accept offers. I'd suggest $18.9K, open to offers for a unique AK car, with sport seats, known history, big bearing, and a PCA seller who didn't just appear to sell his 996 after 6 months for "financial" changes in his life. Yeah right.

PM me if you want to talk further.

I agree. You sold your silver car very cheap also. Seems like you sell your cars a few months after I buy one. Heck, at that price, you'd think some starry-eyed kid would be lucky enough to fall *** backwards into that deal. I know when I was in my teens and 20's, I made a few dumbass car purchases because I fell in love with a car. Your car would actually be a smart move for somebody right out of college.

Not looking to sell, but that's how I sold the '99 C4 aero. Some guy saw it parked in the auto museum parking lot and decided he wanted it. Everything I own is for sale at the right price.
Although I absolutely love it, I'd sell my 996TT in a heartbeat for $45k. I'd then buy Gator's car and with the $29k leftover, I'd upgrade my wife's Saab 9-7x to a 2008 Cayenne S or better ($10k to upgrade), upgrade my long-in-the-tooth '06 S430 to the new body style '07 or newer (another $10k to upgrade), buy the nicest Fiat X1/9 (hey, I had one when I was a kid) in existence (figure, what, maybe $6k?) and still have money left over for a quick trip to Vegas.

Hmmm... Interesting. I don't even think I saw any 4 spoke wheel on a 00-01 when I was looking. I just did a quick search on Autotrader and I still can't find a 4 spoke '00-'01 model. The 3 spoke must've been a popular option.

Gator, I think stripping the cage would be a good idea and not advertise it as being raced.

kinda interesting... http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/5470453924.html

is this statement in the ad true?
"This is an early model 1999, actually assembled in late 1998 and these early models did not have the problematic IMS bearing that has failed on later models."
