Aren't Ruf's titled and licensed as Ruf, not Porsche?

Is it a true "RUF"?

This line "At the time of the RUF 550 conversion". Leads me to believe the parts were added on. So is it a heavily modded with RUF parts GT2 or a real RUF?

It might be a good source for a decent engine and transmission.
If it were closer I might grab it just for the engine.

It has a Porsche VIN so not a RUF - RUF VIN's start with W0, Porsche with WP...but as you correctly surmised, it's a RUF conversion - Porsche GT2 with RUF mods. Still a great car - a more powerful "widow maker".

My thoughts as well. Went and looked at it (it was near me too). Engine case is destroyed. Good chance the front diff is destroyed, and I'll lift it up to inspect the trans housing if seller responds to my offer. If trans is ruined it's not worth the effort for any bits unless it was free..

If only it had the pastel yellow it would be an amazing car! Not digging the speed yellow.

My garage door is stuck so I can’t get my 996 out this morning.
I wonder what everyone would think if I ran out and bought this one so I could still drive a 996 until the garage door repairman comes later this afternoon.
Maybe I could call and cancel the appointment.
I could have him come late next week...hmmm...
