Look for that red car on Bring A Trailer soon....I have a feeling. The last "too low to be real" price I saw on a 911 ended up getting picked up fast by a dealer and flipped on BAT within 2 weeks. He made 6 grand profit on it which I know because the previous owner told me what he sold it for.
The seller of the red seattle car's attitude towards me was "I priced it low so I don't have to answer a bunch of questions". It sure looks good but I would bet on a few nasty surprises popping up for the new owner to deal with. He wanted a fast, cash sale. Looks like his plan worked.

I'd have to dig a bit more into the history but it could be a great car for someone. I've owned 2 previous 997, an S and a non S tip. Only way I'd take a 997 over this car is if it was an S in excellent condition with sport chrono. But you will pay more than a few grand. Those are in the high 30's at best for a good example. And you are not safe from IMS issues in an early 997, so don't forget to potentially add money on top of that. My friends 05 C2 blew at ~35k.
That looks like a well sorted 996 C4S to me for $29k.

05' has the weak IMSB but are replaceable. 06-08 has the strongest IMSB and Porsche felt it does not need to be replaced. The only way to replace is split the motor.

This is the deal thread. 29k is reasonable but not a deal. You are within shouting distance to a higher miles 996 turbo or early 997 S. If it were In the lower 20s I’d say it would be a great deal.

From what I understand that is correct. So if shopping for an 05 997 one should take that into consideration. Even with my 06 C2S I had lingering thoughts in the back of my mind after seeing my friends 05 blow. Luckily thanks to the forums I was able to help him get the engine replaced by Porsche even though it was recently out of warranty. My other friend ended up buying the car and still has it with ~50k on the clock.

I looked for two months at 996 Turbos and clean 06’+ C2S and most everything I saw that was clean was in lower 40s for Turbo and maybe high 30s for C2S coupes. Prob were some deals out there but I bet they go fast and are easy to miss. I didn’t see any that were a shout away from $29k. And I looked hard daily. Mostly at 996tt.

C4S owners will shoot you down for say that. Of course you're entitle to your opinion and I feel the $29k asking price is a bit high. Looks like the auction only has 1 bidder at $27k and I'm guessing the seller will take it if no one else bids.

Will be interesting to watch! I’m guessing a bit higher. That white looks clean.

Deals and pretty much anyone who has a Q or wants an opinion on if the group thinks something is a good deal. Saves us from a bunch of individual threads being created in the main forum.

i agree, which is why I gave my opinion that it was not a deal imo. Others may feel otherwise. Happy hunting. Let’s get back to seeing some more deals.
