Default Vredestein winter tires for 17 inch rims

FYI for 4 season drivers.

After much research I found the only manufacturer that makes the correct size for 17 inch winter wheels is Vredestein. Others make fronts or rears but no one else makes matching sets.

If you are planning on this for the winter, order you tires now, they are on back order and will take 6 weeks to get in.

I found you can still get discontinued Pirelli winters in 17" size on eBay but I assume that won't last too much longer. I am sure they are a little dated but some are available that have never been mounted.

Thank you for the heads up. I have noticed the general unavailability of winter rubber for our cars. I was looking for 18" winter rubber (for my stock size wheels) but I was only able to find Conti DWS' which I am not fond of. Dumb question.....I realize 17" wheels were an option in 2004. Will 17" wheels clear the calipers or will spacers be required?

Check the manufacture date code on those discounted Pirellis. I bet they are pretty old.

They are 10 years old but never mounted. I would not want 10 year old used tires but never mounted should be fine.

Narrow body 2004's will fit 17 inch rims. The wide body 4S needs different wheels.

The DWS are all season. If you need 18's for the narrow body tire rack has a set. I think they are the Pirellis and they were about $850.

For the wide body Carrera's I have no idea about winter set up's. I checked tire rack and they don't have a set.

Unless they were wrapped and in a climate control warehouse, they might be OK but they will be dried out a bit. If it was stored in a diferrently, they will be dried out a lot. You don't want hard witer tires. It should be illegal to sell tures that old.
