Double Din Kits - preference?

I just put in a 7' Alpine head unit with TV, Bluetooth and all that. Fits perfectly and have had no issues.
I'll upload a picture later.

Don't discount the value of a single din unit... I did this install in a few hours (and I'm a complete rock-head when it comes to DIY). It looks great and has brought back life to the stock speakers.

Not a fan. The single-din unit is not flush with the rest of the console. The colors of the display do not match the rest of the car, and it's covered in logos. (Alpine, Sirius, etc.) My .02; YMMV.

It seems everyone goes with Kenwood units... any reason? I'm looking to replace the crappy double DIN JVC unit that came with my car with a touch screen head unit. I would prefer to have an actual volume "****" instead of up/down buttons... but if it means loosing an inch of screen size, I may just go with the push buttons for volume, etc.
Suggestions?

No, everyone SHOULD discount the single DIN head units offered today. I've looked at the best of the best offered from all the major players (Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion, etc) don't come close to matching what you could buy 8 years ago.
Better phone compatibility (which wasn't around then), newer Bluetooth and a couple other small things is what you get. In sacrifice, you get garbage displays, cheaper built units, less EQ/tuning features, worse menu setups, etc.
The focus is now on the double-DIN products. No one is doing any real development work on single-DIN stuff. Pioneer even discontinued their "best" single DIN last year (80PRS - which was at that point the best single DIN available new) and their new top model is garbage (which I sadly have). Alpine's current stuff doesn't compare to their iDA-X100 they used to offer(I have the marine version of that in my boat).
Single DIN is dead.

Which top model do you have? Although Pioneer discontinued the 80PRS model, the newer DEX-P99RS is hardly what I would consider garbage.
