Traffic lights challenge!!!
I barely have a week with my Porsche, but every time I go and stop in a traffic light, I get challenged
Is this normal when you own a Porsche
My list and results so far :
Toyota celica street prepared/ won
Ford mustang Shelby/ won
Ford raptor/ won
Chevy camaro 2SS/ won
Dodge challenger SRT/ won
Honda Odyssey/ won (I'm not kidding on this one, neither on my result
)
By the way the driver of the minivan a hot, blond soccer mom.
Porsche 2014 911 Turbo S/ lost

That explains Corvette being the only red light challenge I've ever got. Of course it was only 1/4 mi. so he got me.
Everything else under the sun has tried me on the freeway and twistys, and they've all lost.

996.2 convertible with 4,000 miles on it smashing much faster cars, seems legit.
I never had a stop light challenger in a year of owning the car. Had a few highway runs, that is it. So it must be your spoiler getting people riled up and your skills destroying them.
Even if you are the best driver out there and you are launching your 996 at 6k RPM with perfect traction, a 996 convertible is at best a 13.3-13.5 second car. With perfect launch and perfect shifting you can get to 60 under 5 seconds (this implies you are a professional driver), this was great in 2002; today Hyundai Genesis can give you a run for your money.

Yes, beginners luck, good to know the Odyssey, Celica, Camaro, Challenger, Mustang, Raptor are faster cars than a Porsche 911 you my friend are really a connoisseur when it comes to cars , but thanks to you if a Corolla XRS try to challenge me, I'll be really careful

If you couldn't take the hint the first post, let me elaborate so it is clear. Bull **** on your Shelby Mustang, Camaro 2SS, and Challenger SRT kills. Your 996 is much slower than those cars.
Raptor is passable. Celica easy. Odyssey, this one reeks of overcompensation; racing a minivan with a soccer mom? You are going to seriously suggest that a soccer mom in a minivan challenged a 911 convertible to a race? Please elaborate on how this transpired. You pull up to the light, she revs her motor so you can hear the VTEC? You smash her during the race, then smash her in the back of the van?
Stock XRS is a 15 second car, with turbo kit it is just as fast as 996.
Posting outrageous kill stories without videos will get your *** lit up on any car forum, Porsche forum included.
You want me to take this back, run your car on the track and post some 1/4 mile slips and videos. You will not break 13.5 in your car in Florida.

Gotta agree with that. It makes no sense to me that OP gets challenged at every single light by such a variety of willing competition, yet I have never had it happen even once.
Maybe Florida folks are different, though.

I could see the Shelby getting spanked if it just pulled off the lot, LOL. The supercharger doesn't build boost for the first 12 miles to prevent car porters from messing with the cars. Other then that any modern Shelby will lay such a massive beating on your car that it's not even fair.
For the record I prefer my 997.2 C2S as a drivers car to my Shelby. In stoplight street race my 997.2 is not even a blip on the radar for my Shelby.
If a 991 S can't do it..you aren't even close.
