Default I'm looking for a constant, switched power source and ground near the stereo.

I'm installing a Audiovox Dice 200 USB connection. I did a search and didn't find much.

The direct wire FM connection thing?

If you're already behind the radio, why not just grab from the radio harness?

Here you go, pins 7 & 8 on the bottom plug:

I was thinking the same thing. My device has blk ground, red ign and a yellow 12v wire. Any idea what I connect the red to? Also, any recommendation on a quick connect splice? Thanks.

You have both in the harness, switched and constant.

#4 and #7. I'd double check with a meter to make sure which one is switched. If I remember correctly I had to switch the two as the harness I bought was for VW/Audi and had the Switched/Constant reversed compared to the wiring diagram I had.

For connectors, I'd use a t-tap just to be simple since it's all low voltage.

Quick splice connectors are something like this: Video Link: http://www.amazon.com/Solderless-Wire-Quick-Splice-Connector/dp/B0041PF5QY
Thanks a bunch.

Just edited post--one slight change to the link I gave you. Look up t-tap connectors, they're a bit easier since it's all low voltage.

On a LHD 996 down by your right ankle there is a removable panel. No screws just a simple hard pull and it un-clips away. In there you will find a plug hanging with 4 connectors.Half of the plug is live and the other comes on with the ignition. I picked up my lead there so the radar detector comes on with the ignition.

Thanks found it. So two are 12v and 2 switched? How about a ground?

I think I may have found my answer. However, I'm still not getting power? I'll double check my connections.

Try this:
Remove the batwing or the side panel of the center console (or both). Find this cable. (for you it might be plugged into something already.)

Click the image to open in full size.

You can either cut off the plug, or find some connectors at radio shack to jam in the holes. Run wires to the device of your choosing using the following color coding:

Brown - Ground
Yellow - mute signal to radio
Green - Switched 12v
Red - Unswitched 12v

Hope this helps.

I think its like:- two are grounds, 3rd switched as ignition comes on and the 4th is live all the time. I think thats how it goes but not sure of the colors involved.

Pinout on the phone prep connector is:

Brown - ground
Yellow/Black - telephone mute
Green/Black - switched 12 volts
Red/Green - unswitched 12 volts

Most commonly used would be switched 12v (comes on with ignition) and ground. FWIW, this connector is on a 7.5 amp fuse, so it is best used for accessories that don't draw a lot of power. Think electronics, not seat heaters.

Thanks, this helps. I'm trying to wire my Audiovox Dice 200. I got it to power up for a second and then it went away? Maybe I blew a fuse. This is why I'm not a DYI'er. Everything takes me longer and I get frustrated...

Hi all,

I've been looking for this connector, can't find it.
Has anyone seen this plug on a 2002 with PCM and corded phone installed factory?
The phone plug I have looks like a home phone plug (bit bigger) and runs 9.5 volts...
Looked everywhere, under ash tray, shift boot, both batwing and phone holder panel removed, nowhere to be found hanging out or connected to something else...

Thanks all in advance
