New Wheels and tires.
I decided to try something a little different with tire size as I wanted a bit more side wall for the rears.
After much deliberation and working out the correct ratios and sizes relative front to back I decided on the following.
MPSS R. 295/35/18
MPSS F. 245/40/18
According to the numbers the front to rear is only a difference of 1.5%.
Revs per mile is a difference of 13 so I think i'm within the window for proper sizes.
The overall diameter is larger in the back and I believe from most of what I've seen the fronts should be larger.
First test drive.....drove great with no warnings/codes for ABS or PSM.
Not rubbing and no spacers thanks to the perfect fitment of APEX RACING either.
May try and go 5mm lower on the Ohlins R&T after more testing.
I like the taller sidewall on the 4S, I may try that on mine. I have the front drive removed, so diameter differences between front/rear is not a concern. I really like the way the extra meat fills the fender well. This may actually fix the German speedometer discrepancy.

I have the 4S in 285/35/18 and think the taller sidewall works well for the 2WD application and looks right. My car is lowered and corner balanced on Öhlins and the setup as a whole works really well.
and keeping in line with the thread, I love my factory 18s and would not put out the money for something that would move the needle enough to get me to change, i would like some TE37’s but not enough to drop the money on them.
So I got the factory wheels repaired to new condition and had them powder coated.

Absolutely love the set-up, great exterior color 🤙

Thanks brother, looks and feels how I wanted it to when I knew the car had more to offer with some tweaking. Now I'll drive it like it is for the nice weather months and decide what other tweaking is needed to make it more better when not so nice weather comes back around.

Wow you got big tires to work! Our C2 we went up 10mm to 235/40/18 front and 295/30/18 rear so from stock rear tires were .3" smaller diameter and 1.2% difference, to rear .4" smaller and 1.6%. No codes and front barely touches inner fender liner at full lock, in future will try to heat form liner and/or spacers.
Smaller tires in back don't look right, next will get 285/35/18 rear which will make a dramatic change to .5" larger than front and 2% rolling difference. We'll see if any codes or rubbing and after 20 years stance should finally look right.
I believe going to larger tire diameter will decrease the factory speedometer error, don't know if the speed is picked up from front or rear wheels.
I agree the small side wall and overall diameter just did not look right.
I know its not factory but was willing to try the new set up anyway; the ratios were close so what the hell....very happy I went this direction.
I like the look of the taller tires. I got some wheels and tires for my wife's Audi and picked a size too small, wish there was a bit more meat on them.

Another reason to be thankful during 'rona virus times....you can park in the middle of the road for a photo shoot.
Great looking car. Makes me want to drive my own C4S...only a couple more months!
