Default Whistling noise at 120mph

Well i just got some new tires,Michalin pilot super sport,
Wow what a difference. So much smoother at speed.
Anyways I get a whistling type noise at speeds over 100mph.
Almost sounds like an arodynamic effect or it could be tranny, 99 coupe with 70k.
Any body else experience something like this?
Or ways to narrow down where it's coming from?
Thanks
Fred

That would be my guess as well...

Push out slightly on the windows and see if the noise changes... That will give you an indication if it is the window seals. Though you probably should have a passenger do it, as you'll be going 100+ mph ;-)

You could also pull that front license plate and see if that is making noise.

Mine makes noise on the driver side. I chalk it off as the price of a $5000 996

You need more data points. What kind of noise do you hear at 170mph?

with these new tires I would be comfortable going that speed,I think, just to find the road that is long enough

No thumping noise at 170 mph? That would be my heart. My fear is going directly to jail on public roads at that speed.

My bet is on window seals too. If it only happens at high speeds, maybe have someone tape the window seal area with painters tape after you get in and go for a drive.

It's amazing how little of a deformity you need on the window seals at those speeds for air to leak in.

You're that good? Hopefully not on public roads.

At 150, I heard the sound of my water pump bearing failing. Bummer, as I had one more gear.

Unless you spend a great deal of time at 120, I'd probably let it go. But that's just me.

I would leave it as is. That way the whistling noise will indicate to you that you are speeding. It could be a window adjustment or any small thing. If you had your window open then it might be the wind passing over your left ear like when you blow across the top of an empty bottle . So pull you bob cap over your ears.haha

They just impounded my Porsche for 7 Days. 360$ ticket, for excessive speeding, 155 in a 80 zone
These are kilometers.
I guess a whistling noise is the least of my worries.
Yes I'm a fuc*in idiot. well time to slow down.
