Default Sport Exhaust Recommendations

Time for a new exhaust for my (mostly) stock 2000 996. I want something louder than stock but without droning. My budget is $1K. I'm considering Schnell and Agency Power. Any recommendations? I was thinking about just getting the bypass mod for my stock exhaust but I think the right side muffler is shot. The car is my daily driver but I also take it to the track.

You might wanna hear some YouTube clips of the Schnell first. They are on the quieter side for some. I had these and ended up switching them out for the louder Tubi's.

1000 for a Porsche exhaust is pretty lean. Fister ds is really a good option but like you said you wont get a weight reduction, you will actually gain a few lbs once the bypass pipes are welding in. Try searching the used market for some cargraphic, tubi, M&K, fabspeed if you really want to have an improvement in sound/weight. Match any of the above with 200 cell catalytics and you will be grinning each time you turn the key.

Why isn't your exhaust a candidate? Don't you have the stock exhaust? One of the bypass mods works great on the MK1 mufflers.

Also, why would it be "shot". It's stainless. Details?

Something is rattling around in my stock muffler. Already went down the road of Fister-D mod. Since mine isn't a candidate, I'd need to buy another used exhaust, then get the mod. If I have to go that route, I'd rather just buy new. So thinking Agency Power, Schnell, perhaps Fabspeed now. Want lighter, a bit louder, but something that will pass the spouse test for long trips.

I got the car graphic on my c4s and could not be happier. It's a great growl wot and very livable on the highway. There is some noise (drone) when cruising at 3k rpm. All aftermarkets do, it's fact of adding an exhaust. Cargraphic drone is not bad at all and completely worth the wail at wot

My stock mufflers also had the rattling noise and hence I couldn't do the FIster-D mod. So I had Fabspeed MaxFlo mufflers installed on my '99 Carrera, and I love the sound it makes. I've been on long trips and have heard no complaints from the passengers. I also haven't had any droning as the noise kicks in only around the 4k range, and even that's a nice throaty growl. You might be able to get it around your budget, but then you won't be saving any weight with these..

If you can find a set of Tubi Style mufflers, they are the ticket.

We have something that fits your cost goal with Rennlist Member discount, passes the wife test and saves about 12 lbs. of weight...PM, call or email if interested.

Then for a slight additional cost, we offer a sound valve muffler that lets you go from mild to wild at the touch of a button, so those times you are alone and want to really hear the car, you have that option!

I have the FisterD upgrades, and recently when my cats were going out, I opt'd for the Speed Tech X pipe with high flow cats. The sound is like silk, and my car just seems to drive better

Do the Speed Tech X pipes use HJM cats?
