Default Price Check 99 Tip Cab

Can I get a price check? Would love to upgrade to 997.2 PDK cab. Blue Book has silly high numbers and dealers (stealers) way too low. Great condition.

32k miles.
Full leather
Traction control

$18,000 - $21,000 would be my guess.

I would head to Barnes & Noble and see what Excellence Magazine have this month on the value tables.
They chart what cars actually sold for.

It looks very nice but may be really hard to sell with the Tiptronic. Most buyers prefer the 6 speed in the 996. The auto seems to be a real deal killer from what Ive heard. GLWS.

$18,000 - $19,000 my best guess for private party sale. Pluses already included for nice condition (assumed based on photo) & low miles. Probably $15,000 - $16,000 for trade in. What are dealers offering you as a trade?

Dealers are offering $17k, sales tax offset helps in NY but I haven't seen anything at the dealers to trade it in for.

Missouri has a sales tax offset even if you don't trade into a dealer, as long as you sell your old car within 180 days of buying a new one. See http://dor.mo.gov/forms/426.pdf I'm certain at least some other states do this (although Kansas does not). Any chance New York does something like this? Would allow you to sell private party and not be incentivized to trade it into a dealer.

Do you have the hardtop?

I would list it for 22-23k but I think 20k is a more realistic number for what you will get.

Yes, I have the hardtop as well. All recent service done. Clean and leak free car. Low mileage. I am the third-owner.

I really would like to trade up to a 997.2 PDK Cab if anyone knows one close to NY.

Lot of Debbie Downers on this thread. I've been looking at cabs for awhile (still have not bought yet) and while I am more interested in 6 speeds, I've looked at a fair number of tips. I would think you should be asking 24-25 and probably take $23. Nice color combo, low miles and you have the hard top. Don't settle.

Worth about $18K to $19K at auction, I just double checked the auction reports for you. You're getting quoted only $17K because your just out convertible season, so dealers know they may take a hit at auction or get stuck with it until Spring. I do think $23K with records is very doable and that's even discounting the tiptronic. It's the northeast, so we generally pay a bit more.

I find that most enthusiasts over maintain, so we like to under pay. It's tough to sell on the forums for retail, but there is a very strong non-car guy market for that vehicle.

If you don't mind, let us know what happens in the end - when & how much you sell it for. I think everyone's interested in the what these cars trade hands for. Hopefully I'm way low on my guess.
Love, Debbie

I agree with the Tip slowing down the sale. That being said, mine has Tip, and I specifically wanted the Tip. So, there are buyers for everything out there!

The car had been on the lot for awhile, so I got a good deal (I think) for it.

Galves trade in is $21400 which IMO is high. I think you should be able to fetch $20k on the open market. I would list it for $22500 and take the first offer over $20k. If you are interested in a cash wholesale no PPI no nonsense offer, PM me.
