Default arctic silver touch up paint

I finally got everything sorted on my new to me 04 Cab and have a couple chips to touch up. Who makes the best touch up for Arctic Silver. My search revealed that the factory paint is too dark to match. Any ideas?

Have the dealership search your paint by VIN#?

I did some chip touchup and even some bumper repair on my Artic Silver using automotivetouchup.com. Pretty decent results. I ordered both the touchup container plus the rattle can. I felt using the can, spraying into the cap, and then using a fine brush worked best in terms of color match. The metallics are a pain! I also agree that the OEM seemed too dark for touchup.

What about Dr. Colorchip? I've been considering trying it on my Seal Grey 2002.

The clear coat was peeling on the passenger side mirror. I repainted it using Paintscratch.com touch up rattle can base coat followed by clear coat. I then wet sanded, buffed, and waxed. Perfect color match and professional looking job. I then did the same thing on my Mercedes. Again perfect color match and a great looking job.

I've used dr. colorchip and it worked flawlessly on my Ocean Blue Metallic. Not sure about the others, but I was very happy with the results.

I have this kit sitting in my garage that I'll send you for free. I don't need it anymore because my Silver Artic Boxster was totaled last month and now I drive a Zenith Blue 996 on the street and am having a Spec Boxster racecar built but its black. PM me your address and its yours.

+1. I've used dr colorchip on black and it worked well. I have to get pretty close to my car to see the touch up.

+1 for Dr. Colorchip on Ocean Blue Metallic. Worked very well on small chips. Not as perfect on an area of "road rash" (many tiny tiny chips) on my front bumper, but not bad. Excellent color match.

Yes, it takes a few days to fully cure. It will perfectly match original color after clear coat is applied.

A qualifier on Dr. Colorchip only as it applies to Artic Silver. First of all I LOVE Dr. Colorchip. A terrific product in every respect. But look closely on their website and they will state (or did several years ago) that light metallic touch-ups are very difficult -- esp. Silver.

I had two Artic Silver Porsches and fully agree -- there is somethng about the way light hits the paint that makes it a less clean touch up than on dark colors. This is equally true with the Porsche touch-up paint and others; i tried them all!

Personally I found Dr Paint Chip to be best but know that your results may not be quite the quality you would hope for.

Arctic Silver -- easy to care for, tough to repair!
