I have found Tirecrawler.com to be a lot less than DTD on BFG tires for my Jeep. I've no affiliation and have not bought from them yet.

I ran some comps and the DT came out slightly less ($4/tire) with the discount over tire rack

the tires are more, there is tax but take off the discount and no shipping and it comes out ahead

the Q is - are DT tires priced "mounted" or is that extra....might save some there

and lastly - how fresh are the tires...last 4 sets I got from TR the tires were less than 5 months old - one set was less then 2 months old

Are those last 4 sets dedicated track tires Ed? How long do you get out of a set?

no - 2 street sets and 2 track sets

I get about 1.5 yr out of street tires and about 10 track days out of a set of those - went through 6 pair (not sets) R888 track tires this year and one set of Conti DW streets rears

I too get about 1.5 on rears and almost 2.5 on fronts using the Hankooks and very spirited street driving

Tires seem to be current stock and I pay no tax since in FL
Just orderd full set Hankook v12's 235/40-18 and 285/30-18 $616.00 after rebates and Black Friday instant rebate. Too good to pass up and I only needed fronts.

those guys dont play together well...they are out to beat each other (and sometimes each others cars)

I have nothing to prove, no scouts looking for a 45 year old wanna be racer - its all about having fun and driving it to work the next day - I do enjoy it...but you know when you drive well it feels good and when you dont do as well you still had fun - when racing if you didnt meet some time or distance or speed or ending position you are all upset = not fun = I'm too old for that and dont have enough money to do it right.

Ed's the only guy I know that can take 15% off the tread depth, even before they go on the car, just from intense bench racing.
