On a Porsche ? Plus the name Hankook just does;t do it for me Well lots of guys like the V12 here - I have Sumi's - made huge difference from the worn pirellis and very happy so far. For the money you probably can;t go wrong with either.

v12s on my street wheels are fine for dd but really lack solid grip on the track.

I use the Hankooks for daily drivng. They're soft and unsuitable for aggressive driving, but they are cheap and they have a decent treadwear.

I keep a set of Yokohama A048 semislicks on Sport Classic II two piece wheels for AX, track and even for when I'm out for a pleasure run.

***Apologies in advance for the mini hijack - but I'm trying to get a hold of trendy996 because he may have a GBox 2nd gear detent for me. You got your ears on good buddy? ***

Really like my Sumi IIIs on the street and track. I have not noticed any problems with wet traction at all but I may be cheating a bit there.

It's a pretty elite crowd that is brand concious about tires.

I can't imagine a hottie liking my car until she sees Hankook on my sidewall. I mean, I imagine her all the time, just not disliking my tires.

Get the tire that best matches your wallet to your requirement. V12s lasted just fine for me at a DE weekend. Another dude shredded his V12s on his 996 that same session, but I know he drives HARD. Chunks were coming off the tires.

On my second set of Hankook V12's I have no idea what some of these guys are talking about. They are ecellent tires, highly rated by magazines and on the web and more importantly they are extreamly reasonable. All I know is they work for me on my daily driver and I drive it like I stole it rain or shine and V12's are fine.

I installed Sumi's on my c4s...considered the Hankooks, but in the dry I understand the sumi's are better. I did a recent DE...tires did very well. My previous PS2's may have been better...but the car was fast, tires talked to me, and did not notice much (any) sidewall issues. There good for me for now.

Both are good tires and good value. It really comes down to budget.

Just installed the Sumi's last week to replace PS2's.. A little too early to tell you if I like them as they appear noisier than the michelins. I ran a couple of laps with them and felt the traction to be excellent, great grip when pushed hard.. Can't beat the price... Call Damon ..

For DD use I liked mine. I thought they were quiet and smooth and I got 3 years and 30k km out of the rears but I don't track.

I went thought this same deliberation and the ultimate answer for me was a set of Michelin Super Sports. When it came right down to it the SS were only $200-$300 more than the V12's.
