resistor size used to eliminate airbags
#7
Hi
Does 2.8 ohm work? I have measured the resistance between the pins on the passenger airbag, and it seems very close to zero. My instrument shows 0.3 with the measuring pins together and the same when measuring across the pins on the airbag.

Yes. I've used 2.7ohm resistors in all 4 of my airbag circuits.

Thanks for the answer.I physically removed the airbag and replaced it by a 2.2 ohm resistor, it works so far.
I also learned that you should absolutely not measure anything on the airbag, since measuring resistances means that you put voltage on it. Luckily it was to little to set it off. And it also don't give you the right numbers. One of mine showed 0.7 ohm, the other one zero. Useless info. Something around 2-3 ohms seems to work for most airbags. My resistor comes from a friend who replaced four airbags in his Lexus.
