Default resistor size used to eliminate airbags

What resistor do you use when deleting the door and passenger dash airbag?

I *think* it's a 0.3 ohm resistor across the two terminals.

Yup 3 is fine too.. You will only blow it if the a/b goes boom. (knock on wood)

Hi

Does 2.8 ohm work? I have measured the resistance between the pins on the passenger airbag, and it seems very close to zero. My instrument shows 0.3 with the measuring pins together and the same when measuring across the pins on the airbag.

The car is a 996 turbo cab 2004

Yes. I've used 2.7ohm resistors in all 4 of my airbag circuits.

Thanks for the answer.I physically removed the airbag and replaced it by a 2.2 ohm resistor, it works so far.

I also learned that you should absolutely not measure anything on the airbag, since measuring resistances means that you put voltage on it. Luckily it was to little to set it off. And it also don't give you the right numbers. One of mine showed 0.7 ohm, the other one zero. Useless info. Something around 2-3 ohms seems to work for most airbags. My resistor comes from a friend who replaced four airbags in his Lexus.

Are you taking out the air bags? If so, why? Are you tracking the car and find no need for the extra weight?

In my case I want to bring my son in the baby seat in the front passenger seat. In my friends case, he doesn't want four bombs in his project car.
