Seeking advice on which to purchase, best deal for the money:
2003 c2 cab 40000 miles for $33k
2006 c2 cab CPO 50000 miles for $45k
will of course obtain PPI either way. Both are dealer sales. 2003 no signs of RMS replacement
Can afford either but curious what you think is the better deal
Thanks for the feedback

I would probably go with the 997. I think the 2006 997 is a Mk.1 though - some minor improvements in the Mk.II. (I am not 100% sure on that).
Here is why:
1. Age - rubber bits and other small items start needing attention after old age. This is in the engine compartment, suspension, etc. Not necessarily super expensive, but annoying. It's not the miles you will need to worry about.
2. Technology - better technology and comfort items in the 997. Since you are getting the C2 Cab - I don't think you are looking for race / track value.
3. Parts, etc. - It is newer. Wheels, Tires and aftermarket parts are still widely available and will be for some time. The 996 mod market has started to fall off a bit.
The great equalizer here is depreciation. Prices will continue to fall - but to what point and how quickly is the question.

The newest you can afford is the rule around here. I would go for the 2006 CPO. I didn't get a PPI when I bought my CPO.
