Default Rear Spoiler Switch

I just spent my first 30 minute in the garage "getting acquainted" with my '99 C2. Pictures to follow after I clean it up a bit later today.

On the 200 mile drive home with it yesterday my wife and I alternated being the pilot. When I was following her, I noticed that the rear spoiler air dam may be in bad shape. Our 993 had a switch on the console to manually raise and lower the rear spoiler. For the life of me, I can't find it on this car. How does one manually do this? I really want to check the air dam.

Thanks!

It will be by your left foot on the fuse box cover.

There is a thread about relocating the spoiler switch to the center console.

Dang. I've run out of room on the center console. With PSM, garage door, cab, locks, defogger and now IMS switch, no room for the spoiler. May have to look for dual function switches from this point forward.

You can get a batwing with two or four slots for switches.

Plus, where are you going to put the controls for your flux capacitor?

Got it solved, thanks to the 918 Prototype.

There are removable cut-outs on both ends of the dash, near the doors, that might be suitable. Not sure if standard buttons will fit, but the shape looks about right.

For the headlight adjustment you mean RHD or LHD? Not a standard rocker switch.

There are addtl. slots for buttons near the ash tray/window controls.

Here's one of those spoiler button relocation threads ....

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...-relocate.html

I would love to do this but there is a 90%+ chance I will cut the wrong wire and end up with my windshield wipers in a permanent state of on/fast and the alarm going off every time I pass 25 mph.

It takes a bit of wiring, but the DIY tutorial is thorough.

The Spoiler Switch, gloss finish is part number 996.613.155.00.A02, and it was $27.26 from Sunset Porsche in Oregon when I bought it in 2010. Make sure you get the correct gloss or matte finish to match your buttons. Eariler 996's have the gloss buttons.

I'm not sure, but there may be different button part numbers for installation on the left side of the dash vs. the right side of the dash. Read the DIY and double check if you order the button.

I looked at the dash and the cut-outs I mentioned are bigger than the ones on the console.
