Default 27 manual S

They talk about a manual S coming in 2027, is there any credibility to that rumor?

No. Take rate for manuals for the 992.1 S was less than 10% worldwide.

I believe it. People buy what they can’t have.

People buy manuals because they think the next guy wants a manual.

Edit: The YouTube link that the OP posted is dealer propaganda. I guarantee they do not know any more than we do as that is the standard within the dealer industry itself.

Within the U.S. it was approx 15-20% for the S. Savagegeese has previously stated this information as it was provided directly to them via PCNA during a 992.2 press event.

No way that will happen. Someone posted (FWIW) that the MT take rate on the T is only 70%. Imagine that - the only non-GT that has an available MT and the take rate is just 70%. IMO the only reason to buy at T is the MT. They’re underpowered and a well optioned T weighs just as much as a lightly optioned S.
Maybe somebody else here knows for sure, but my understanding is the MT in the T is not the same (read: as stout) as the one in the GT. If that’s true and the T take rate is only 70%, I can’t see Porsche putting any additional development cost into strengthening it and therefore the T won’t be getting any significant step up in HP.
Thats my logic, yours may vary.

This is mostly nonsense. 1) As of 2025, the T is only available in manual, making the take-rate 100%. 2) The transmission is the same as the .1 7MT that was in the prior GTS, so it’s not a question of ‘strengthening.’

There is no PDK T currently. The manual take rate is 100%.

Edit - I see Mikesarge beat me to it. Buy whatever floats your boat, but don't post misinformation.

Except this information didn't come from a dealership, it came from a presentation from PCNA and PCA when the 992.2 was released.

Note that I said the take rate was less than 10% WORLDWIDE, so the US take rate has already been averaged into that number. I don't disagree with you that it was 15-20% in the US, but Porsche isn't going to continue to offer MTs just because the US market demands it.

Also, the fact that the MT is no longer offered in the 992.2S is proof enough that demand was not high enough to justify it. Why would Porsche suddenly turn around and offer MT in the next year or two?

The only reason I tried to believe was that 3.0 is the only engine in the line up, current T’s MT can be paired with, without doing any additional development by Porsche which made sense.

The aforementioned dealer propaganda is via the YouTube link that the OP posted. The three individuals in that video are associated with Porsche Denver West. The manual take rate intel Savagegeese previously provided was via Porsche Cars North American (PCNA) at a Press Event.

Note, I was never advocating that a manual was going to be offered on a 992.2 S, quite the opposite.

Well we already know that is patently false. They brought back the 6MT GT3 years ago solely because the U.S. market demanded it and the main reason Porsche AND BMW still offer manuals is because of the U.S. market.

Porsche will make what the US wants.

This is evidenced by their abandonment of EV everything.

Are you sure about the EV abandonment thing? Looks like the Cayenne EV will be here mid summer. BYD exported 1M EV units in 2025 and are tracking to export 2M units in 2026. If Porsche abandons the EV market,, it will be bad for 911 buyers.
