Hmmm....2004 C4S Cab?
I just came across this one...

Some details:
2004 C4S Cab
Guards Red
Full Leather Interior
Opt 18" Premium Wheels (not sure what this is about since it clearly has the 19s referenced below)
Xenon Headlights
Heated Seats
Premium Sound with CD Changer
Power Memory
Comfort Package
Advanced Technic Package
Champion Motorsport 19" Wheels
Factory Sport Exhaust
"All books, one owner"...but of course its for sale at a dealer.
45K miles
Price: $44.9K...I know it's a little high but this is just the dealer's asking price and it doesn't seem as off as some others I've come across. Of course, the mileage as a lot higher, too.
Thoughts?

nice...does the drivers seat have a large stain at the front right edge? (or lighting?)
19" wheels look funny...but someone will want them and if you dont like them they will be easy to sell
not much else I can see....looks shiny ! me like shiny !

Looks nice. It's a high price but not outrageous. Offer $38k (subject to PPI) and try to get into contract about $40k or $41k. I wish the miles were a little lower at that price but.... Good luck!
Beautiful car. Does it come with the Bow? Can you drive it with the Bow on? Will the top operate with the bow? (I always wanted to get a car as a gift; as a surprise, parked in the driveway, with a giant bow
)
Oh, and I like the 19" wheels. A bit pricey for an 8-year-old 996, but it sure is nice.

I agree on the 19s. My preference would be to see if they still have the 18s since they're referenced in the ad. I usually like a deep dish rim but there's something a little...strange...about these. Maybe its just the pics. I think the marking on the front seat is a shadow of the steering wheel but, of course, this is something I'd have to check.
The next big issue, since its not a local car, is either flying down to see it or getting someone local to check it out...but I'm not ready for that yet. I'd like to speak to the dealer first.

P.S. Do bows add hp, torque, or both?

Those gold rims in the back would look nicer! They look like 18"s also.
What kind of 996 is that in the background?
This car in question looks mint and well optioned! It doesn't look like a reflection to me, looks like it could have a stain or something weird...
I'd keep the car with those rims, but I would pay a little extra to have the stock ones too!
Be ready to purchase and go see it. Get a good PPI, drive it, inspect it, and if you like it, go for it!

Here's another shot of the driver's seat....

I'm not necessarily a 'big rim' guy but I've always liked deep dish rims. I'm not sure that the 996 was really engineered for 19s but I'm not looking to track the car either so the extra unsprung weight (assuming they're actually heavier than the 18s they replaced) isn't going to drive me to replace them. I like the cross spoke pattern though.
My only real hesitation with this car (based on the limited information I have so far) is the mileage. I was really hoping for a car with at least 10K less on the clock...but if it checks out and I can get this one for $40K it might not be a bad deal. We'll see.

Looks really nice. The mileage also seems perfect to me.
I would ditch the 19s. The 996 was engineered to rn with 18s, the factory only offered 18s, so that is what the car should wear. IMO.
The car looks to be in fantastic shape.

Just spoke to the seller/dealer -- car was sold a long time ago. I also ran an Autocheck on it out of curiosity and while they claimed that it only had ONE owner, it actually had FOUR! Dare I say that I'm glad it was sold? Oh well...on to the next car.

Be careful buying into the number of owners. If an owner moves from state to state it can appear as an ownership change when in fact it is not.
