Here is a link to Nurburgring times for various performance cars, including an MKI & MKII 996 Carrera. The list is fairly current as it includes the new Ferrari 458.

The 996 Carrera(MKI) ranks 137 on this list. Click on the link for the 996 Carrera and it gives other performance stats for the car such as lap times around other iconic tracks.

Interestingly, it lists the 996 Carrera MKI & MKII as having the exact same lap times around the Ring. In fact, the MKI is listed as having a faster lap around Hockenheim than the MKII.

They are nice, almost got a C6....was used just like the 996, but I am happy with my choice. They are different in so many ways....each is a winner though.

The GT-R times are really surprising. Look at the weight values. It's like 200kg more than anything else around it, in all its variants. That driver must be insanely fast.

Interestingly, most of the Porsches have less hp than the cars around them on the list.

The Carrera GT....at almost 9 years old now...still hold the 19th spot!!!

That's massively impressive to me. It also shows how good that chassis is as it's not all that high on the HP/Tq numbers!!
