Engines that have over- enrichment, or ring sealing issues will eat DT-40. This is a well known, and established fact.

Where can I find this? Did a light search but didn't come up with much (except the recommendations itself, of course). Very interested to see the nitty-gritty, might even switch oils if I can get my hands on some after reading and verifying that research

Hi Jake, just recently saw you replied to my post.

My car was using ~ 1 quart per 1500 miles with DT40. With the Motul it's more like 1 quart per oil change (maybe a little more).

Common sense tells me the difference between those two oils doesn't expose an issue with my rings (and i've observed the lower consumption over a period of at least 2, if not 3 oil changes).

The enrichment thing has me wondering though...my car has 107k miles and runs amazingly well . I did have a buddy tell me he smelled gas when I passed him once though?

mid say you have some over- enrichment going on. You must investigate.

A blackstone analysis would tell me if I had fuel in my oil, is that where I should start?

Again, my car runs amazingly well and hasn't used oil significantly since I switched to Motul.
