If you live in a state that requires a front plate, what have you done to keep it (a) away from the car; (b) looking good? I've got mine on a 1/2 inch black plastic thingy that slightly takes it off of the bumper. Last owner drilled the holes, so I just had to add plate and screws. Added a bracket in front as well (Pelican). Curious if you've got better looking suggestions (with pics, appreciated). Back plate I have behind a tinted smoke plastic "protector."

Sorry; I wasn't clear. Previous owner drilled into the bumper already, so I have the plate mounted in the center (below). Is there a prettier way of doing this? Note: not meant to be a Pelican advert; just my set up.

As I was installing my new plate on my 2000 C4(required in WA) I notice that instead of aligning the plate bracket square on the post mounted on the car (vertical plate position) - I tilted it down and tightened the screws, and the backing plate is now tilted down about 10 degrees. I covered the plate with a gray curved plexiglass cover from O'Reilly's. It is a cleaner look that the vertical Plate mount IMHO and the slight gray curved cover is easier to clean that the number plate. I will try and post a picture.

My '01 C4's front license plate is so unique it keeps getting lost or stolen. So I never have one available but always keep a new one on order. $13.00 "order" receipt always handy to show the officer, just in case. Personal plates take months to "reprint".
Only time I've ever been stopped was just after importing the car still with German plates. Bellevue officer stopped me to tell me my license could not be used here....IDIOT.
