Default Anyone interested in 2002 C4 Cab?

Hello,
Anyone interested in a good deal on a Rain Forest Green C4 Cabriolet? I have a Z06 coming. This is a beautiful car which has been well cared for. I would rather make someone a good deal on this board than trade it at the dealer. The details are below.
Here is the list of options and pictures of my Porsche from my memory. I have excellent documentation on it. All Scheduled Service has been done at Brumos Motor Cars, our Porsche Dealer here in town. I would be asking 28,000 for it. For you folks in the north, it has a matching color Hard Top that has never been used by me here in Florida and a rolling rack to go with it. Thank you! Kevin

1) 2002 Rain Forrest Green Porsche 996 Cabriolet C4 (all wheel drive) (manual transmission)
2) Advanced Technique Package (Advanced Technic Package, its $3,240 delivering the contents of the Technic Package (Bi-xenon HID headlamps--high intensity for both high and low beams--headlamp washers plus a new Bose digital sound system with 12 speakers and a remote CD changer. )
3) Premium Wheels
4) Burl Wood Package
5) Color matched Hard Top
6) Navigation System
7) Wind Screen
8) Spare Tire System in Trunk
9) Original Window Sticker 99,300 dollars
10) 69,000 miles
11) Service Records available

Sadly we all have one here... You may want to try auto trader.... Thats where I sold the 928.. First serious guy that looked at it, Bought it. And I got good money for it... I dont think you have a "great deal" there... But I do think auto trader is going to be your friend. I think the ad was 59$ and it ran til the car sold

Yes and 28K for what seems like a highly optioned and well sorted C4 Cab is actually a good price IMHO

Looks like a beautiful car. Seems like greens are sometimes a hard sell, everyone wants black or silver, but I love the green, second only to my blue. Definitely try Auto Trader, or even eBay. I think you will get more from a private party than on a trade-in. You will save some sales tax on the value of a trade-in.

Also post it in the 996 sale thread and the classifieds here, and post it on 6speedonline and Renntech.org. Good luck with the sale.

+1

Green makes it a tad bit less desirable to the masses (wood package too IMO) but it certainly is a solid deal.

I searched long and hard for a green one when I bought mine. You just need to find the right buyer. I think $28k is a great deal for someone who wants that color combo. I wouldn't budge. Take many high resolution pictures. GLWS!

I'm not sure if the price is good or not. I recently had my '01 silver C4 Cab with only 20,000 miles on it on Ebay for 35k reserve and it didn't go. Seems people aren't buying.

yes, a, Mk1 C4 Cab, even with low miles, won't fetch anywhere near $35K.
and no, people are buying - but not at that price...more like $28K for a Mk1.

This post is about a pristine Mk2 Cab - and at $28K I think it's an absolute steal.

Your OLDER car for MORE money didn't sell so you think his YOUNGER car for LESS money is over priced?

His car has almost 70,000 miles on it. Mine has 20k. To me, that's a big difference. What is 50,000 miles worth? That's almost half of the life of a car.

Just for perspective I just got my well optioned 2002 C2 Cab with 22,500 miles (all leather) for $31K which included bumper to bumper 5 year-50,000 mile warranty.

I also think your Mk1 for $35K is about $8k overpriced. Also, to the fact that "people aren't buying" - I took too long (over one week) on three cars prior to this one and lost the sales - all of them fairly priced. People ARE buying fairly priced vehicles. Lastly, my search was not limited to my geographic area.

But I think for most new 996 buyers, they're looking for the newest model year they can afford - and they know about the differences between Mk1 and Mk2...so I just think if someone has $30K+ to spend, they will look for a Mk2.

I knew the car was overpriced but I don't believe it was 8k overpriced. I was only interested in selling it at a premium because it is near perfect, silver with black, and a C4 and I had my eye on something else that I don't need. Perhaps there is a book value for them but if someone wants one bad enough, they will cough up the money. Ebay is not the right place to get good money for any car. Sometimes I think putting a 'For Sale' sign on the car is best.
