Default Bought a spare ignition switch

All these threads on dead ignition switches has prompted me to buy a spare one to keep in the glove box. Hope I don't need it, but I feel more prepared...

Don't forget the Teeny Turner. I am on switch #4 and always keep a spare in the door bin.

Does a switch going bad make it harder to turn to start the car? Mine is somewhat difficult to turn sometimes almost like it's getting bound slightly. The dealer said the the entire steering lock part.
