Whats your experience of the Ohlins to your 40AE, I was interested if you could share your feedback on the change. This winter I would like to refresh and change out the suspension. Its is mainly a summer DD with the odd trackday thrown in. Comparing to the standard suspension on the car my first goal is to lower it a little as the US 40th look too high for me, and I’d really like to improve the ride if I can as the MN roads here are far from smooth.
On my previous 40AE I changed out the suspension for the M030 ROW kit, which is great value and dropped the car perfectly but I’d be hard pressed to say it rode any different on the street.

Only had them on for about two weeks and have yet to make and adjustments to the original settings due to all the rain we've been having, but first impressions are that the car is much better of highway road joints and smaller road imperfections that used to provide a jar. I have the setup relatively stiff right now for what Ohlins describes as "windy roads" (11 up front and back), and with that setting larger bumps are more jarring. I'm going to back it out to like 18 or 20 and expect much better road comfort (street is like 18-30 clicks out). I'll update in a week or so with results. As far as the drop, I didn't want much more and it now sits about 20mm lower than stock. You can drop it down to your desired stance on setup.

Anyone with the OEM hardback 40th Anniversary seats know if they come with the heated option? Considering swapping out my "Comfort" 40th seats with the sport backs, but I do enjoy the heated option currently with the cold winters.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, my 40th has heated seats and they work great here in Mn. Having been using the them lately, it's getting cold already!

Spent four days at RENNSPORT this past weekend. Lots of very nice P cars but I only saw one 40th.
I didnt drive mine up as the dirt parking and rocks around Laguna Seca are maddening not to mention the trafffic getting in and out of the track. My beautiful 40th is a blast to drive. PSS10, GT3 ride height and street alignment along with GT3 Euro seats make it super special but I just couldnt put her through the dirt.
32k miles and perfect condition. As a gambling man and annual oil changes for the life of the car IMSB will continue to remain as it came from the factory.
When the time comes for a clutch Solution will go in. If failure occurs before then this will become a HOT ROD 3.8 or 4.0 monster.
THE ONLY FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF

I think the BAT Auction result on this 9K mile Anniversary Edition is a big deal. $54,500 for ANY 996 Non-GT3 or Turbo is a good sign that the 996 market is a positive trend with well cared for examples. The Anniversary Edition is certainly gaining it's respect in the market as well.

hey everyone, I am doing a pretty neat project where I am having a DAS Sport roll bar wrapped in leather. For the project I have to order a whole hide; it will, supposedly, be an exact match of the Natural Gray leather our cars have. We'll see when it arrives.
I will have a *lot* of leather left over. Enough to do the whole project twice, probably, and definitely enough to do a shift boot or steering wheel, etc other little projects.
So, if you want a key wallet, or you want a steering wheel rewrapped, etc, message me and when my project is done, I can sell you some leather that you need for your project. Or I can arrange for your wheel or whatever to be rewrapped using my hide.
pics to come in about a week when the hide arrives

Hi everyone,
I have put down a conditional offer on #1443, but the selling dealership has no available maintenance history on it. I know alon and gcreta are past owners, but if there are other owners any history or info on the car would be much appreciated!

I'll go back through my records on that car and be happy to share with you what I have. Shoot me an email and we can communicate that way easier. Ted (40jahre911@gmail.com).

My leather wrap roll bar is pretty much done. I should be picking it up this week. They went to great lengths to get the color to match. I hope they did a good job.
Longer term, I'm considering some Motion Control Suspension coilovers, as well as some Fuchsfelge wheels or fifteen52 outlaw 2 wheels. Not sure at what point it's not worth modding the "old" 996...the car is closing in on 100k miles but I don't see any reason to not keep going.
