Good luck

Steve - first of all, you may have heard from your son that I was conversing with him (initially via the 40th FB page) about his interest in a 40AE in his area. Too bad it fell through - you would have had two unique distinctions: (1) highest miles 40AE known, and (2) only father-son team to each own a 40th.
Relative to Daytona, you might want to throw that opportunity out on the FB page because I know of around 8-10 current 40AE owners in Florida who frequent the page and aren't necessarily on RL. If you're not a FB user I'd be happy to post it out there but I'd want you to tell me how you'd like people to contact you. You can email me or PM me if you're interested in that (40jahre911@gmail.com). If you want to use the registry as a guide here are the cars' numbers:
I'm going to offer this here for our 40th AE brothers and sisters first.
I'm selling brand new (never ever mounted, and was only out of the box this past weekend for the 2nd time ever to take some pictures) a set of spacers.
The set I have are black along with black extended lugs to compensate for the spacers as well. These are hubcentric also.
What you'll get:
a pair (2) 7mm hubcentric spacers, black
a pair (2) 15mm hubcentric spacers, black
20 lugs that are extended in length to compensate for the spacers (black colored)
Selling for $215, which is what I paid. Keep in mind, these come with the extended lugs which cost more money if you buy them separately.
I posted this on the 40AE FB page today, too, but thought that I'd post it here in case folks didn't see it.
I was talking with a 40th owner in Pennsylvania today who drives his car year round. He is interested in putting dedicated snow tires on the car. I have all-seasons on my 40th and don't drive in the snow with the car so I looked up the winter tires that I have on my Panamera Turbo (Pirelli Sotozero Serie II) to see if they come in the standard size for 40ths and they apparently don't. I know that some or many of you use dedicated winter tires (Litesonic comes to mind - I remember the pics of the car on the ice!). What brand/style do you use and what sizes (F/R)? Thanks.
Thanks very much - this helps. I had gone on the Tire Rack site last night and configured a set and found that same info, but wasn't sure whether folks were using that setup. Let us know what you think of them after you've had them for a while.
Hello
Just got back from the Daytona Vintage car show. Great Porsche turnout, but no 40th anniv. cars. showed. Very much fun driving on the beach. Nice weather, until reaching central USA Saturday night, snowing to beat hell. Blizzacks worked very well. Round trip, 4,020 miles, Now showing 206,000 miles.
Drive On

First, Steve, you are the man! Every time I fret over my car getting the slightest bit of wear I get a solid reality check by seeing another long and wonderful trip that you've taken in your 40th. Every day that these wonderful cars sit in the garage is a missed opportunity of enjoyment, and you've taught us that well.
Second, with the wealth of 40th owners from California on this board I was hoping that you guys could help me ID two 40ths that our friend Dr. Marc (Nr. 1103) posted on the 40AE FB page. I have attached their pics. I'd appreciate any help I could get identifying the cars.
Ted
Thanks for the info. I checked with Porsche dealer, $74.00 for theirs. Duck tape doesn't look that bad!!

Here's a DIY YouTube video showing how to replace the cap. If you Google something like "silver piece on 996 headlight" you'll find a zillion hits, many on RL and 6speed. Good luck.
