Default windshield washer adjustment

how can i adjust the windhsield washers, they are out of alignment and spraying the underside of the hood

i remember on older cars they had a metal part you put a needle in and could move it to the desired spot, these dont seem to be adjustable

The nozzles are probably partially blocked with deposit build up.

I partially resurrected my Boxster's nozzles by running the tank empty then filling it with a pint of white vinegar and running the windshield washer and lettting the white vinegar sit in the nozzles for a spell. I splashed some water on the car to rinse the vinegar off the car's glass and paint.

After letting this soak IIRC overnight the next day I ran the washer tank empty and flushed it with distilled water until all the vinegar gone. Then refilled the tank with distilled water.

This helped some but the nozzle spray pattern improved more when I took the car into the dealer for some servicing and as part of the service the tech added some Porsche washer fluid and topped up the washer tank with water. This stuff appears to over time to slowly be dissolving the deposits. It may help that this winter has been particularly wet and I've had to use the washer quite a bit.

One might do as well to remove the nozzles and drop them in a some white vinegar and let them sit until the deposits are dissolved.

I have new washer nozzles but there has been a nozzle change and the new nozzles require a wiring harness adapter that costs $75/side. The old style nozzles are no longer available.

The new nozzles remain in the plastic parts bag.

Sincerely,

Macster.

tooth pick or other small peg. Maybe an adjustable pencil if its tip has a long and thin section. A round tooth pick might be your best results. Since its a german car maybe have it adjusted so it squirts over the car onto the car behind you, then you'll be ready for the autobahn Been there done that.

Oh yah I gota warn be careful not to enlarge the hole or deform it. It could make a big difference in an unwanted way doing so.

I recently saw that in the service manual when I was looking for something else...

I'll see if I can find it again.

There it is... section 92-9

There are two styles - the old style which looks like it has two little round eyes on each side; and the new style which has a rectangular opening.

The old version is adjustable, but the new version is not adjustable.

Bump of a super old thread.

Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the washer nozzles?

Its not hard - undo the plastic overs in the frunk - unclip the plug then disconnect from the harness then pop out the washers by pulling them up.

Installation is the opposite

Great, thanks for that. I need to check to see if I have the old or new style washers, and whether the new wiring harness needs to be purchased.

Default Anyone else’s squirters hit the underside of the hood?

Anyone else’s squirters hit the underside of the hood? I noticed both of mine are doing this, and wonder if anyone else’s are like this.

I stumbled on this thread looking for a solution, mine spray the bottom of the hood also. There does not seem to be an adjustment.

Did you somehow reverse them? Or could the nozzle be twisted? They're pretty basic so it may just need a simple twist.

mine spray the underside of the hood too
If you are going over 40 mph, then it makes it to the glass, but it's not a nice spray, it's just running off from the hood
