Default 2004 gt3 shocks and springs on a 99/996???

Does anyone know if this will work?

Will the effect ride quality?

GT3 front axle is "similar" to 996 C4
They are not suitable for C2

Kyle, have you done a search yet?

This has been done countless times on this forum. It works and is a great replacement for stock suspension.

yes, have you ever driven a GT3?

However, I could easily live with it.

Good call. It's typically done before asking so you don't get the DAFS icon from Tim!

Yeah but it is what makes the forum go-round ya know. the board woudl really suck if we all kept telling everyone to "do a search" and then we may never find out new information regarding the issue. Meet new people.... Maybe I will have different questions than the other posts. Maybe the next guy that does a search MIGHT find something in my post he didnt find in the other posts when he did his search.

Dont hassel the hoff, man

It's not new information. You do a search and then you post if you don't find anything. Even better, you search on it, post your findings that you are thinking of doing since it seems others have done it and keep it going or post to the thread you found it in which brings it back to the top. If nobody searched and just posted a new thread for every single thing then when people search they will get overwhelmed with massive amounts of threads and then get discouraged from reading all of them.

It's like asking without searching......Hey everybody, what with this IMS stuff?

Or maybe the folks with knowledge will figure out that you never do a search and completely avoid any of your future threads...

Just sayin'

Yes, it is 100% direct bolt on. I can speak to my own car 1999 C2 and a friends 2000 C2 Cab that did the switch as well.

It is no different to install the GT3 shocks/springs as to install a set of PSS9/10 or Motons.

You need the entire GT3 coilover unit as unbolted from the GT3, otherwise you need to purchase the missing parts. Two parts that are commonly missing (since they get reused) are the Front Upper Strut Mount (has the monoball and allows camber increases) and the threaded droplink locator collar.

Paul, thank you for your direct answer to the question. This thread reminds me of my daughter and having to brush her teeth before she can go out to play... She will fuss fuss and fuss.... and if she just would have brushed her teeth, she could have gone to play 15 min ago.

Thank you paul. I owe you a beer. I will buy the shocks and springs today

Kyle,

I re-uploaded all of the pictures just now. They shouldn't vanish now. Take a look at the picture of the GT3 coilover unit. You need everything in that picture and of course the GT3 swaybars to connect to.

Here is the thread in case anyone needs it.
