Default Random People Asking Year

Do you guys get random, obviously not enthusiast, people asking the year of your Porsche? I get it all the time, I think it's pretty annoying. Or is it just me, since I look young, maybe people want to know how I have a Porsche??

I pulled up to a corner last week and had a random homeless guy even ask me what year....what the hell does he care??? I understand when I'm in my Nova, or the Bel Aire, because they are classics...but a newer looking Porsche, or is it so old it's almost a classic now?? haha

this last week I had another homeless guy ask me for some money, then when I got into my car, he was like " damn you can't even give me anymore money and you driving in that porsche"...then as I drove off he was saying "yo what year is dat"

anyway there is my rant

No. Usually the person looking at my Porsche has no idea what year or how old it is. I think that's a compliment, especially when they are surprised to hear that my 911 is 11 yrs. old.

age has nothing to do with it. asking what year a car is is a pretty standard question. and given you are from the city of angels where showtime is all about it, it's common to run across young money whether it's self-funded or TFB.

the next question people keep asking me is: "how fast have you gone in that thing?"

I don't get the year model question too often, but I do get the "how fast have you had it?" question pretty often. I get it for the Cayenne too, as if it's a sports car!

I get that to, Dennis. "how fast have you had it?" Well, i did squeeze it up to 120 to get past a clump of cars on the Interstate. Then, I tell them it was not even a two handed affair, it's just a well made German go-fast automobile.

Most people assume my C4S is NEW!! I don't tell em until it comes up in the conversation. I get "what do you do to own a car like that?" I don't know what to say, I tell them I work hard and work smart which of course I don't, but what can one say?

I do end any long conversation about P-cars with "Get One! Cheaper than you think."

the cost of getting into one is cheaper nowadays, but maintaining them... let's all be very honest here. it is more upkeep. no question. is it worth it? yes. without a doubt.

true, but most people wouldn't spend $20 to $30k for a 8yr old car....you can get a branspankin new infiniti or some other japanese crap for that amount.........and then of course everyone thinks that it costs about half a million dollars to change the breaks....I always get "man its going to cost you a lot to change the brakes on that thing"....................but its good, keeps a bunch of people from having them.
