I forgot about that one. That's a pretty standard question.

I don't mind the questions, anyone who gets me talking about my car is likely sorry they asked.

They probly walk away shaking their head, saying, man can that guy yack about his car....

I get asked questions and I always happily answer, especially for younger fans.

Imagine if you were a fan of the marque and some d$ckhead owner gives you grief for asking a question? I'd rather not be that guy so I'll tell them how much I love this car and how I'm so happy and fortunate to have it.

I also plead guilty. It starts with me telling them about the first year of the water cooled 911s, and ends with them walking away as I am going on and on. "Hey, where are you going? I didn't tell you about the umbrella I am thinking about buying!"

Had a 20 year old kid working on my house. He knew what year it was, knew all the tire sizes, the HP, curb wt, all the specs and ratios. He's walking around it, admiring it, totally psyched. I told him "Dude, you've already gotten to third base with it, you'd might as well drive it." So I let him drive it down this mt. road. The whole time I was egging him on. Telling him the next time he got to drive one it would have to be his own. I drove back (sideways a lot of the time). He knocked a few bucks off my bill and left with a grin plastered on his face. I haven't forgotten about when I got to drive a Turbo at about his age and I've seriously thought about 911s every day since. Reminds me of the kid on the Porsche commercial. It's an incurable disease. Heh heh heh

Everytime I go to the gas pump I get people asking me the year, how fast, how it handles around the street or track. I am used to it by now, including cmpliments frm strangers. The other day some random guy who was walking across the BP gas station wanted to borrow my car for an hour or so! I think he was joking, but I took it seriously I said no way bud go drive one at a dealer.

+1- I'm always happy to answer questions and never annoyed. I'm fairly young in my early 30's and have been fortunate to have driven many high end cars.

I never want to be the one who is "too cool" to talk or share. I remember I admired a guys SL Benz at a gas station. He was a ***** bigtime- I ended up telling him I had that same car and knew his was an older model by certain body features and his face totally turned red LOL.

Some think the car is brand new. I like to tell them I bought it used and had to keep watching for a long time to find one I liked. Some people and even other Porsche owners I'll tell them it isn't just red or burgandy, it's Arena Red for gladiator blood red Nice metal flake too

Have to agree, the story behind arena red is a good one. When people say "hey, nice burgundy Porsche" I politely correct them and then tell them the story about arena red.
