Fabspeed Maxflo Competition Air Intake
Why can't I find anything in the 996 forum on this? Is it that new?
* Fits all 996 Vehicles 1998-2005
* Dyno proven and verified + 22 HP. Power increased all across the RPM band. You can easily feel the power in the seat of your pants.
* Major increase in throttle response and driveability.
* Highest increased airflow of any air-intake systems offered for these cars. 90mm 3.5” thin wall carbon fiber tubing with highflow airfilter.
* Cold Air professional race quality systems for all Porsche 996 streetcars and drivers education and GRAND-AM professional race cars.
* System comes with carbon fiber heat shield and all parts for a do-it-yourself installation
* Compliments any other bolt-on modifications.
* On a stock 996 makes the car sound very sporty and sound great.
Anybody ???

Nice use of carbon fiber (very clean and simple design) and I bet it sounds good, too. Anyone buying this thing for a HP bump is in for a disappointment, though.

Now if they could create a carbon fiber shell to keep the ram air into the filter and keep the hot air away. It seems every other car has 2-5 different variations on a cold air kit from the aftermarket. The 996 has few options for a CAI and fewer that actually look like they'll help.

Water vapor ingestion: I don't see how this design could avoid it if the car is started after being parked outside in the rain? That round filter looks to be directly below the hole in the engine lid. It would get saturated, no?
