Will that pass smog inspection in Cali? I think it might be a problem.

It might be a visual fail? The stock system can be reinstalled in 1 hr. I will be good for two years.

Lessee here, Porsche charges a ton of money for the X50 upgrade which changes all sorts of internal parts to get about 25 HP. Does anyone seriously believe that they would leave 22 HP on the table for a freaking air intake. If you do, get me some of what you are drinking.

Joe Fabiani is not evil. He simply makes the same claims for his stuff as all the other liars out there.

The engineer part of me says to remind everyone that our engines are essentially a pump. A 996 engine can suck in 3.6 liters of air 6,800 times per minute. Do you think a factory engineer would design an air intake and filter that allowed less? Fact is the stock system will allow m ore than double that.

The CAI will increase sound - in two ways, more engine noise and a sucking sound from your wallet:

+1

I will also add that originally I just put a nice BMC filter into the stock air box and it was great. Then a good deal came along on an EVOMS CAI. But honestly there was little to no difference in sound, pedal response, etc. And yes the stock air box is VERY well designed.

Hey Hapich,

Love to know what your take is, once you've got it installed.
BTW (during my research) I was reading that the resonator and Y junction is for reducing EU drive by noise, no mention of airflow design.

Cheers,

Sid.

Ps. when all else fails... you can always use pink plaid!

Hey Jake, did you ever determine air inlet temps?
