Default Throttle Pedal Picture Request

Hey Guys, We have a bit of an odd request. We are developing a fully adjustable pedal for the 996 and 997 cars and have found that there are four different pedal assembly's for the 996 alone. Unfortunately for us, up here in VT, most of the 996's are in storage for the winter so we are running into difficulties tracking down the different variations.

Long Story Short, we are in need of detailed pictures of factory 996 throttle pedal assemblies preferably taken at the angle shown below. The pictures we are need of are for the following 996 throttle pedals:

Carrera 2 E-gas
Carrera 4 E-gas
Tiptronic E-gas
Tiprontic Drive by Cable

In return we will offer a juicy introductory discount to Rennlist members when we are finished with our initial production run. Thanks again for your continued support over the years!

Not exactly the same angle, but page 2 of this thread has a bunch of detailed pictures of my '99 C4's e-gas pedal: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...oved-feel.html

Mine (99 C2) looked like ^^^ .
I don't have a "before" but I do have "after" photos. I removed the rubber ****. I suggest omitting these and having slightly sharper, grippier raised edges in their stead:

Pretty good diet your car went on there Ritter.
I was noticing the protrusions and wondered about it. Thanks.
Ivangene did you modify yours and how if so? Is that a secret GT3 pedal you aren't telling anybody it fits?

These all appear to be cable driven units. Does anyone have a later 2001-2004 E-gas? Or better yet, Does anyone know the difference (if any) in that actuation system of an e-gas verses cable? Porsche offered both variations in 99-00 and unfortunately they do not give a P/N break down of components just a complete assembly.

Which protrusions specifically are you referring to?

We are very curious if all E-gas and Cable driven models are all actuated by the ball end shaft? I'm very suspicious of the removable block above the ball end shaft that is present on the cable driven unit I have in my hand. It almost looks like that block should be replaced with a different type of actuator for the e-gas cars.

Well, the early e-gas cars (like my '99 C4) have what looks like the same pedal as the C2 (non e-gas). On my car, the "cable" is only about 6 inches long and goes to a potentiometer under the dash. In the C2s, the cable goes all the way to the engine.

The picture you posted must have the potentiometer inside the pedal - there's just an electrical connection.

2002 C4S e-gas. Love to find a wider gas pedal that looks stock--no flashy aluminum--but I'm probably a market of one.

That answers my question. Thanks guys. I'm still clueless as to why Porsche added that removable block above the ball end shaft. O'well, it doesn't look like it effects what we are engineering. You mentioned a wider factory looking pedal............. We sell a ton black pedal covers for individuals just like yourself.

Looking forward to seeing your solution Tom to this very under-engineered (plastic? bah!) pedal from Porsche.
