Wow what a horrifying beast that was. No wonder it killed itself. According to the really quite excellent sleuthing work by the 914 guys it was in fact a rebodied Toyota Celica.

Unbelievable the lengths some people will go to. You can buy a real one for $15K dude!!!!!

I don't imagine it had a Porsche motor...it almost certainly had the stock Toyota drivetrain. Whoever built it was crazy, but not that crazy.

Lol!! I'm all for modifying and building cars, but this one is just plain weird. Lot's of cash and/or time to pull that off, and for what? A front engined, slow, poorly handling, badly braking Porsche wannabe with a horrible interior.

Now if this one would get "finished"

The picture of the red GT4 doesn't belong with the rest. That Celica was the first of the Group A homologation cars and would make an easy 250hp with a great five speed and a better high performance AWD system than Porsche has figured out even twenty years later.

That "CeliNinNineSix" is an insult to Porsche's and Toyota's everywhere!

Jon, the old Celica GT4 was a great car for sure!
