Apparently, the AC/fan display will show various temperatures (oil temp, engine temp, etc.) If you hold down the up button (for air to come out on dash) and the internal circulation button at the same time it'll shift the display to a series of codes and then a figure. What the codes mean is listed in photo

Just finished going thru this entire thread. A lot of info that I already knew and a lot that I didn't know about (or that doesn't apply to) the new (to me) 2000 C4 Cab that I just bought
The things that jumped out at me are:
1 the coffee cup holder options; none in my car.
2) that there is a shelf under the steering wheel that'll fit my manual but I found that the manual fits better in the passenger door compartment and that the shelf is better for carrying mail that I p/u at the PO or maps (but who uses maps anymore?).
3) the fact that I can open/close the roof using the key in the door lock (which I'd never do anyway w/o the engine running due to fear of draining the battery).
4) the single rear (Euro-style) fog tail light. Haven't checked it out myself yet but I installed a Euro light switch in my 2008 BMW 335i E90 which lights up BOTH rear tail lights when the rear fog lamp switch is turn on.
5) the fact that late model p/u truck drivers take offense and tailgate you when you pull it out in front of them like you f*cked their woman, and
6) the fact that I already get more compliments and "looks" in the car than I do in my MR2 (they don't even know what it is) or my BMW 335i (which is faster and handles better than the 996 w/the mods it has) or my MB ML 350 that cost me more.
Every knows what a 911 is and they want one!

RMS seal another thought
Even though you may turn off your AC(manually), when you restart your 996, the AC will return to the AC setting you had on prior to shutting it off.
Just because you had the RMS seal replaced (again),doesen't seem to prevent the same problem from occuring over, and over again...

There is another thought with regards to the RMS seal, I found that European Parts Solution offers another solution which adds an additional #8 bearing and housing to the end of the crankshaft providing additional support, reducing engine vibration which may be the cause of the failure rate of replacement seals. I am considering this when I replace my IMS with the LN solution.

Don’t remember reading this in the manual and just stumbled on it last weekend...pull out the headlight switch and turn clockwise to access both headlights and the fog lamps. Not sure if I’m using the correct terms -too lazy to refer to manual at the moment. Whatever the terms it sure provides A LOT more illumination. Disclosure - I’ve got a 99.
