Default Hit @ Lunch - PHUDGE!

Tagged in a parking lot
front drivers fender/wheel
a car backing into me while I was driving by, screaming out the window and blowing the horn.... I watched with nothing to do but brace for the hit....

son of a freaking bastage !!!

doesnt look bad, but I know better... new alignment "feels off" and the hood doesnt look like its sitting right, fender hits door, wheel has a "bumper mark" fender visually looks like nothing happened, just scratched from the hit, not dented or wrikled at all.

do I get to swear....

pics later - though not much to see

Very sorry to hear. That REALLY sucks. I'm assuming the other guy's insurance will pay for repairs? Find the absolute best shop you can to do the work and accept nothing less.

Its an incredible feeling of helplessness - I've been there. Sorry to hear!

Had a driver hit me while staring at my car and rolling at 5mph... totally f'n clueless folks out there. He got out of the car and told me I hit him... no damage at that speed but for a moment i thought I was on some reality show.

I had that happen to me in my 944 about three years ago.

I was in a fast food restaurant parking lot in the drive-thru lane. Of course there is parking on either side while waiting. Some woman walks up to her car, gets in, and backs up. Mind you I hadn't moved the whole time. I'm slamming on the horn and screaming and she still hits me.

She gets out and apologizes and tells me, "I didn't see you back there."

Idiot...

The cop came and looked at the damage, put on her police report $100 or something outrageously low. The final tally ended up being about $1100.

People are really clueless out there! I think parking lots are some of the most dangerous places for both cars and people. Too many idiots not paying attention.

Wow, man. That's horrible.

I'm sure it can be fixed... and I'm sure it'll look like new... but, damn, you're going to be out your car for a week or two! That's some reward for actually driving your car!

Hey Ed, that REALLY sucks!
I hate parking lots, everyone drives around like they've lost their minds.
Back in '85 had a 3 month old Pontiac Trans Am driving down the aisle of a parking lot and a women shoots out of a spot and creams the side of the car. $3000.00 damage because she had likely floored it coming out of her parking spot and really smacked me.

Really hope you have no problems to make her right!

been there, sorry to hear it Ed.

I'm sure you'll make sure they check the big stuff, but maybe also have them look at the wheel bearings and carriers, spin the wheel too, if bent that needs to be balanced.

I though my hood looked off to, but it was really just the crinkle in the fender that made everything look off. Obviously look at it. IF you do get a new hood, hey it comes with new paint, so saves you money down the road right? trying to find a bright side.

And sorry to hear about the marks on the wheels, hopefully they buff out. Push for a new wheel, the MSRPs on new oem wheels are super high and can get you a little cushion.
