majorly stinks! that huge bolt could have gone thru your windshield and done you some damage. good thing its just the windshield and you are ok.

Who the guy who made the bolt? Probably not. I'm sure he'd be hard to track down.

There's bigger things to worry about than who's responsible. Because no one is responsible, it's a road hazard.

See now what I really need is a set of PSS9's, I could have avoided it if I had that set up.......

Wow, but I'm thinking (could be wrong) that a windshield is cheaper than the front hood (repainting and repairing). Perhaps you have glass coverage?

No I used to have glass coverage but my current policy was cheaper and they don't have it. But I've priced it at ~$380 so it was cheaper not to have it.....And yeah, if you're going to get hit, the windshield is a lot cheaper!

It's the "McGuyver XL" mount with a Panasonic point and shoot attached to a gps mount. You can see it in the windshield photos.

I've looked for mounts and can't find any in the stores.

thank heavens for laminated glass - are there any windshield-related upgrades you can have done during the install??? I guess your camera does not record sound in the cockpit - would be interesting to have heard the initial pilot comment when it hit. I hit a big pelican or something flying out of chuck degaule airport in 1993 - there was definite chatter in the cockpit at that moment but thankfully it hit right alng the upper windscreen fuselage/glass seam and did not break the glass!

Wow... Glad to hear you came out unscathed despite the windshield damage...

When was this trip? Looks like you were in great company... from the views though, it looked more like Mt. Laguna, rather than Mt. Palomar and Laguna is a lot closer to Dudley's than Palomar is (I'm very familiar with the area, my brother lives about 10 minutes west of Dudley's)... Post your next event - I'd love to join you guys on the next one... By the way, are you going to make it to the Carlsbad meet next Saturday? If so, I hope to meet you... Afterwards I'm planning on stopping into SoCal Euro afterwards...

Wow, sorry it happened to you. It looked like a hammer to me...went by too swiftly. I thought you were trying to catch up with the guy and I was looking forward to a grand finale...but video ended abruptly with no happy ending.
