Wayne, thanks for posting these. I made it over to the show - but by the time I got there, only about 5 cars remained, including the slant nose, a 993, a new 997S, and the red 360 spyder. I love the 360 also - beautiful car. The 348's were nice and that lookes like a great example. They can be bought relatively inexpensively as they are not considered among the more desirable F-cars. I was out last night in Bryn Mawr and stopped at Algar to gaze into their showroom. They have lovely fly yellow Enzo right up front. Interesting car, but just a bit out of my price range.

I am not even going to ask if you drove the C4S to the show. I know better!

Good morning Phil!

Good morning Phil!
I'm amazed that he drove there at all - he did give me some excuse about having hurt his back, so I figured that it was another "I'm on call" kinda day.

Wayne, I agree!

I can imagine his morning went something like this:

8:07 - Should I go to the car show? Hummm....
9:13 - Yeah I think I'll go.
9:15 - Is it going to rain? Phil walks outside then checks the Weather forecast on TV and the Internet.
9:27 - OK, no rain in the forecast
9:28 - Which car should I take?
9:33 - If I take the Audi TT, what happens if the top won't work?
9:48 - If I take the C4S, what happens if the little green circle thingie comes back on?
9:51 - How far is is to the car show?
9:58 - Phil gets on line and does a Map Quest to get the mileage for the trip.
10:07 - OK not too far, I guess I could take the C4S.
10:13 - Phil pulls the C4S out of the garage
10:14 - Wait, that mileage to the show was only one way. I'll end up driving twice those miles!
10:15 - Phil pulls the car back into the garage
10:17 - Should I go to the car show? Hummm....
10:31 - Yeah, I'll go to the show.
10:33 - Phil starts up the C4S and sees white smoke coming from exhaust.
10:35 - In a panic, Phil gets on Rennlist and searches for "white smoke"
10:47 - Phil is relieved to find that is normal if car was started but not fully warmed up and started again.
10:51 - Phil has his wife start the C4S so he can look for the white smoke. No white smoke. Good to go!
10:53 - Leaves for the car show.
11:13 - Arrives at the car show and sees 5 cars.
11:37 - Phil looks at his watch. Time to go. Sun gets brighter after Noon... could damage paint.
11:58 - Arrives back home
11:59 - Pulls car into garage. "Whew, got the car in the garage just in time!"
12:01 - Phil walks into the house and thinks to himself "WOW, that was fun! I'll have to go earlier next time."

Aww Ed...nice pics. I was in Murrieta at 6am but had other prior engagements 'till 10.

I do miss a run or two, seems like you were missing a good run.

Hope it was fun. Did you go all the way to the top? or to Julian?

I love it and that was actually about right on timing also. I exchanged emails with him at 8:25 and he was on the bubble about going and he later told me that he actually arrived around 11am.

Just up and down then turned around and did it the opposite way. I had someone coming by to look at my Dad's Crossfire at 11 so I needed to be back.....I haven't seen any runs lately on the forums. I haven't been looking much either so I'm probably missing them.

Yeah, I know. It's sad.

The funny thing is that it was Phil that convinced me to go to this thing, then it was HIM that was on the fence about showing up.

I took my son along and he had a blast. You should have seen him checking out the undersides of the cars and the wheels. It was really funny.

Great pics! I've been itching for a group drive. I missed the Palomar Mtn./Temecula Winery run a couple of months ago because my body guy was doing as I asked (taking his time). But now that I have her back, I'm up for something like this. Considered heading up to Orange yesterday, but my calendar was already full... (any reason to cruise up the I5 next to Camp Pendleton is a good reason - and it would have been a great day for it...) Anyway, I've been lurking around on the 6speed regional forums - West/So Cal - looks like they do things once in awhile...

Tim, I hate to tell you how accurate your timeline is and how goddam funny your post is.

Here's the way my day actually went:

6AM: Checked the weather forecast and radar on computer.
7-8AM: Tried to eat breakfast but too upset watching a line of storms heading this way.
8-10:30AM: Detailed the car for the "show."
10:55AM: Drove to show after the roads thoroughly dried out after sun "peeked out" from behind the clouds.
10:55-11AM: Yes, I actually DROVE THE CAR TO THE SHOW!!!! (However, the show was exactly 2 miles from my house).
11:30-11:35AM: Drove home and put car back in garage.
11:36-11:37AM: Reinserted battery charger
11:38-3PM: Took nap - long day.
