Default slate grey/seal grey

Okay guys, I need some help. As some of you know, I bought an '03 C4S with a salvage title. I bought it in Oct. just before the bottom dropped out on, well, everything. Anyway, my body shop guy says he is going to paint in the next two weeks

The car is seal grey metallic and I was wondering if anyone knows if slate grey (I think late 356's and early 911's had this) is a close enough match to the seal grey. I am not going to paint the door sills (seal grey) just curious if the slate grey will match up.

I think slate is quite a bit darker than seal, at least the slate that was available on the 997.

It is noticeably darker. My seal gray was once right next to the slate gray and it was dramatic.

Why would you paint in Slate Gray or any other color except Seal? The colors are very different. Slate is darker and has more brown in it. Seal is truly gray with almost a bluish hue.

Seal grey is a much better choice. Besides you NEVER paint any car a different color and not paint the trim. Even a junk car.

Good choice. I am glad you came to your senses. I didn't want to have to drive up to Minnesota to slap some sense into you.

A color change is a certain way to dump the value of a car. As it is every Porsche owner today is taking a hit,--don't add to that by a decision that you can make now. Post pics after it is done,--or even DURING the job!
