Yeah, but no IMS worries!
Seriously, how does a car that special, with only 4,000 miles, get treated like that? Even in 1971, that car had to have been worth enough $$ and unique enough that someone should have at least pushed it into a corner of a warehouse somewhere. To be left sitting outside for something like 42 years?
Gator, how's about a paint correction thread based on this one? Seriously, the new trend among museums and serious collectors is "preservation" instead of restoration. I wonder what a thorough cleaning of the paint would reveal? Have you ever worked on a car like this to see what could be done with the original paint?

Yikes! What a shame. There is no correcting that paint. It's bubbling in places and missing in others. If that had been sitting inside then definitely salvageable. Single stage paint is pretty fun to work on. The trick is to feed the oils back into before polishing it.

For that car, I would opt for a full rotisserie restoration. Some camps say that unmolested barn finds are best but that one is way nasty.

Yowza on that Speedster!!! Sure is selling for a good price though.

Saw this posting today... doesn't this look like a fantastic price for a TT with reasonably low mileage, one-owner car? He's very close to here... mighty tempting.... Am I missing seeing something here?

Price looks about right for the miles. Their is one with 87k for 30k bid no reserve too but 1 owner is a pretty big plus imo.

That's a solid deal on the Turbo assuming it all checks out.
