For $40, the guy claims to sell you a link to an international website where you can buy a Sachs clutch kit for only $329.
I saw this too a few days ago... currently on the fence about it as I am looking to get a new clutch and if this is legit I could score ~100 off on a clutch set up...

Anyone else? opinions on this?

I think this is Rennlist member AronG based on wording of this eBay list http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-01-Porsch...item35b6ed4d4b where he indicated he sells on Rennlist, this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...ml#post9065975 for 99-01 cars matches the wording of the eBay listing exactly but shows a bit of discount under Rennlist ad. ($430 vs $444 on eBay)

I might have to spend a few time units on google with this one. Sounds genuine to me.

lets see 6 owners, 1 accident and overheating, hmmmmm
Its being sold by a dealer. So think, why hasn't he fixed this simple little overheating problem and raised the profit margin.

It sounds like it could be a nice project car, but I would not go into it without someone talking a good look at it.

As a car to buy to start driving, I think not

No; the description in the ebay ads state fitment for 996 C4S, and Turbos; i.e. widebody Pcars. The rear offsets are too "low", so to speak. for a 19 X 11 rear et should be 58 ( I prefer 60mm) or a "higher" number. also if you go with an aggressive negative camber, you can pry do a 55 offset.

Tires for your C2 cab; you can go with 235/35/19 and 295/30/19; another option for a bit more sidewall 245/35 and 305/30.

Agree. I'm in the market, but for a Mk 2 996. I just thought it was interesting that a dealer would disclose an overheating problem and put such a low "Buy It Now" price on it. If it were an easy fix, he would've fixed it, so must either be 1) difficult to diagnose; or 2) easy to diagnose but expensive to fix (and the dealer is sandbagging). It looks like it's drawing plenty of interest based on the number of bids. The Autocheck report says the accident was to the right front of the car and it occurred in 2006, so likely not a factor in the overheating. Might be a good deal for a P-car mechanic who knows what's wrong with it or is willing to take a chance.

^^^ Thanks for that link - now I know where the wheel style for my 04 40th AE comes from. I would get these as non-polished (I assume they are not chrome looking like the shot-blasted 40th AE versions) spares if I had $1100 laying around...

At least I can make note of what type of wheels I would need to look for in case of damage - thanks for posting.

I knew I got a good deal on my 18" sport technos, but i didn't realize how good a deal it was until I saw that auction. I paid $700 for the set, which were mounted with nearly new Perelli snow tires, and came with 17 mm spacers.
