Default DUMPING 996

Economic scandals hit home. Dumping my nearly flawless 1999 Tip. (zero RMS, zero oil, zero accidents). Steal it from me at bdronsick@garciastromberg.com. Before you flame, consider the possibility of yourself next. Thank you very much. This site has been wonderful over the years. Thank you.

Sorry about your situation and best of luck in selling your car.

Word of advise... consider rewording "dumping" to for sale, add some basic details about the car such as mileage, color, etc and a picture wouldn't hurt. EG: Ivangene's signature has more info about his car than your whole post does.

Also, I would be shocked of anyone flaming you for selling your car regardless of reason behind it.

you have my sympathies. i think the terseness of your post probably reflects your emotional state at the sudden change in your financial life. hope things work out for the best.

that said, please don't think that you're the only person in a similar position. there are several members of this board who have also been forced to sell their p-cars this year. i think you'll find many sympathetic ears here.

anyway, good luck. i'm sure you know the usual places to post your p-car.

^^^ +1 on both account. Spend 17 for membership, put for sale in your sig, include the link, get rid of the "dumping" wording.... (I thought it was another blown engine thread).... and post more often... The more you post the more you advertise your car... Good Luck to you sir!

Best of luck with the sale, it will be hard but you never know until you try... Actually I am also affected by this economic downturn but I will try my best to hang on to my baby for as long as possible. Worse case scenario, I would sale it to my Bro or friends for cheap rather than "give it away" to dealer or someone else. Cheers...

Default Dumper on dumping

It's in DC, but I commute to Palm Beach for work so that's probably the only place I could "deliver" it (or somewhere along the way). Thanks for all the advice and sympathy, but for someone accustomed to flying 1st class and now seeing the $17 membership fee to this forum to post ads as a lot of money, listen- all I can't come up with is still "dumping" to describe letting this magnificent vehicle go. I've had four and this one is by far the best ever (even over an identically outfitted 993; please don't flame for that either!). Tragedy. Oh well, just an excuse to get that GT3 next year I suppose. If there is a next year. Thanks again for the kind words.

How much are you asking for it? Are you coming to the DC area breakfast tomorrow in Bethesda? There may be a lot of potential buyers there.

PM me or email me.
Thanks.

Accustomed to flying first class but $17 to join a forum that hits your target demographic to post a classified ad is too much? Not sure I get that. The economy is kicking everybody in the **** but unless you are in a profession that is "overnight" type of money then sorry, you aren't accustomed to flying first class but rather you were blowing your cash.

Regardless, best of luck with your sale. It might help to list the price and miles as well.

I agree with Dell. Frankly, you either sound like an incredible snob, or with "economic scandals at home," living in Palm Beach, and "dumping" your Porsche - it just begs the question: if "$17 is a lot of $$ just to post ads" to your target demographic, did you invest all your money with Bernie Madoff? I hope in your case it's something much less drastic. Anyway, GL with the sale, but I'm sure you know it's a very soft 996 market right now.

If you own the P...why dump it....take it off the road (so no insurance or registration) and it won't cost you a thing. If you need the money you in big trouble...even dumping doesn't help you in this economy...I think no one is buying an old P (that is not a classic) right now.

BUT goodluck

A couple of tips:

- Try posting on craigslist. It's free and you'll probably get more interest.
- Try being a little more descriptive with your car, more detail the better, perhaps post pictures.

i don't see the point of $17 member ship fee now.
after all, rennlist is no longer an independent site.
you have my sympathies, craigslist is good source. i've searching for a boxster on that site everyday. best of luck.
