Ed, I have never met either Wayne or Phil in person, but I did have a phone conversation with Phil about 3 weeks ago. I was surprised that he wanted to talk to me after all of the crap I give him! Both of them are great guys!

I would love it if you lived closer. We could make for a dangerous trio. I miss seeing Phil over the winter when he baby is stasis.

Maybe his battery will sulfate again and you'll have to take him to Hobert's for his annual wallet raping.

The OEM battery is only a year old - I figure if I wait til next year, my battery will sulfate, and Wayne can come rescue me again and I can shell out another $200 for a new battery. Just think Wayne, we can make it a biannual tradition! You can even get to pick the lunch place! My treat of course.

On a serious note, what is involved in disconnecting a battery? Are there special things to know and/or do once it is reconnected?

(Thinking I will try and get some info out of all this battery stuff Phil has gone thru)

Ed,

Make sure you have the stereo code for your car. If you don't have it hte stereo won't work and it will be a headache to get the code and activate the stereo. On the '03 & '04 (maybe the '02) the stereo code is stored in the DME so it will reactivate by itself.

Ed, contact Loren either here via PM or on Renntech.org (he operates that site). I believe he has a way to get the code for you.

Well, if you have the car on a trickle charger, or hook it up once a week, then you won't have an issue. The problem with Phil is that his advanced age means that senility frequently gets the better of him and he can't even remember where he put his keys, nevermind that he has to hook up the car for a charge.

Wayne, good point. Does his Audi TT have a START button? I figure it must because that is the only way he could remember how to start his DD each morning!

No start button, just one of those giant key fobs that flashes and has a built-in GPS.
