Porsche's Love Snow - Post up your Pics

Rudy,
Check your manual (OK this is a good excuse to use this emoticon ==> ) for instructions on how to remove the headlights. You should have an "L" shaped tool in your tool pouch which is located trunk (probably inside the spare tire rim). The is the tool to unlock the headlights.

But seeing how this is for my baby... I'll take the advice and run with it... As soon as I get up the nerve to do the surgery I'll post pictures (not likely anytime soon)...
Thanks again!

Headlights come out in less than 2 minutes... pull back the fake carpet in the trunk, pop off the rubber plug covering the access hole, insert tool and 1/4 turn... headlight is out
installing take special care to line it up and sort of "wiggle it" in place to ensure the connectors are all lined up, note... there is a bit of a hard twist on the wrench in both dirrections and a sort of loud sound when its done... you might think you broke something as its a bit un nerving. (or as I like to say "DE-UN-RE-Nerving- ish-ful-ed)
GL (when and if you go that way)
PS... if you want to send me your lights I will do the op and return them for free!! That way you can yell at someone and fell all warm and cozy inside

Perfect! Much better then reading the manual (no offense Tim)... especially the part about the loud sound... that step would be key for me.
I did go through the links that Tim posted... looks easy enough... I suppose I could practice by playing that old "Operation" game ("Remove Funny Bone")... I don't have a lot of confidence in my "fine motor skills" but I suppose the fine for screwing this modification up is $500 or so to replace the whole assembly...
I do appreciate the offer, but I really don't get warm and cozy yelling at anyone... the warm and cozy comes from the safety net of paying a professional so that he can fix the problem at no additional charge if there's a screw up...
Anyway, I'll give it a shot (it took me a couple of days to get up the nerve to change the side markers and that turned out to really be a no-brainer... it will probably take at least that to do this one...)
Thanks for the instructions and the tips! Much better reading than the manual (getting to the manual is a whole other thread...)

Okay, I'm here... I couldn't ignore Tim's emails and PMs any longer.
You know I'm just disappointed that Phil would think that I would pick on him. I don't remember the last time I picked on him for making an ignorant comment with regard to his car.... then again, I think he has made so many at this point that they all blend into one long comment on cruise control (Phil, that's the green light on your dash)
Oh Phil, we need to get driving again. The good news was that only last night my wife mentioned organizing a drive in the Spring, so not all hope is lost.

yesterday I opened my garage door and showed the snow to my car.
I told it that if it was bad I'd send it outside.
... and you all know that I'm mean enough to do it - after all, look in the photo and you'll see that I already have my 3 year old clearing snow.

I figured that to be the case. He's a good kid and loves to help out. Hopefully we can keep things that way.
We actually bought him the snow shovel for christmas and he loved using it (he previously had been asking to use our shovels).
He wasn't a big fan of snow last year - but he did really well yesterday when we were outside taking down the christmas lights. By the time we were done he had cleared most of the driveway all by himself.
I couldn't resist snapping some photos and when I saw that photo I had to post.

I'm glad someone resurrected this thread... this forum is a perfect pre-occupation while waiting for the hometown boys to spank the Stillers this afternoon...
My car is going in for her face lift this afternoon, so I thought I'd perform the surgery while they're working on the bumper cover... I found the correct bulbs for the side markers, but can't find a part number (for either Phillips or Sylvania) for the turn signals... Anyone have these part numbers handy? (the silver bulbs that look white, then amber when they're on...) By the by... I've come to discover that there is a MY 2001 996 and a MY 2001 1/2 (half) 996... What's the difference and how do I know which one I have?
That's a great picture Well 'ard - can't wait to show my 15 y.o... (that should fix his whining about taking out the trash...) WRT the snow shovels... I remember back in the day, that snow shovels made great snow sleds as well...
Thanks,
Rudy

yeah, I'm sitting there watching the Giants/Eagles game... I'm hoping for another Eagles loss.
Sorry to disappoint, but the Steelers will probably will later. (and that's coming from a Patriots fan!)

As far as my Bolts... every time they've been to Pittsburgh in the post-season they were the underdogs... and we're 2-0 playing there in January...

We'll see... I'm watching the Giants/Eagles too and pulling for Philly... I'd sure like to see the Giants lose just to shut up all of the NY transplants around here... (Yes, some of us still do have hard feelings for Eli...)

I'm not a manning fan at all (either of them), but I hate Eagles fans more...you should hear them crowing all the time about their "great" (but dismally untalented and notoriously choking) football team. If they hadn't made the play-offs, then McNab and Andy Reid would finally be history and they could get around to admitting how bad they are and realize that they'll never win a Superbowl while those two are with the team.
As for the Steelers/Chargers matchup - The chargers have just been inconsistent this season that I can't see them beating the Steelers considering how consistent they have been.

What are you smoking? I'm a Bucs fan, and we happily beat the Eagles in the NFC championship game on our way to winning the SuperBowl in 2002, but McNabb and Reid have gone to the NFC Championship game 5 (is it 6 now?) times in 10 seasons. That is a fantastic statistic.
By the way, living as I do in NYC and following the Jets and Giants sentimentally, I have been calling for Eli Manning's removal since he was drafted. Way overrated and such a whiny nonchalant loser. Doesn't the guy have any heart or guts at all? He just stands their like a deer in the headlights without every attempting to find new ways to get the job done. I mean, where are the field photos that he should be studying? Why isn't he talking with his fellow players? It's as though he just wants to get out of the cold and go home...win or lose. Does he have any trade value?
