Marc... You running with all seasons on the pepper? Or dedicated snows, thinking of running snows on the X5, with all this snow early in the season it might just be worth it.

Went skiing at Loon on Wed and Thurs, one pic of my clean 911 before leaving on Tues. afternoon, and a second pic Wed am at Loon after driving the last 40 miles or so in the snow, and then waking up to some light fresh powder covering my Porsche.
Nice to be able to drive my 996 all year, makes me appreciate the more I drive it.

A few iPhone pics this morning while I was out playing in the snow. I still chuckle at the looks I get driving this car in foul weather. They really stare when I put the top down.

So I'm curious, what is the significance of putting the Nurburgring sticker on? Have you driven the car on the 'ring? I see so many cars these days with that sticker.

I was driving in the snow last night, and a pickup truck slid off the road in front of me. I went around him, then pulled over and got out to check on him. He was able to back out of the snow bank he hit, but he seemed surprised about the car I was driving.
(I could also tell exactly what he did wrong... it was a curve, he touched the brakes, front wheels locked up and he started sliding straight, so his instinct was to press the brakes harder. He slid right off the road in a straight line.)

nice Van!
a number of years ago while riding in the passenger seat of my brothers VW camper van, we were on a snowy/icy curvy narrow road. Came up over a little rise and into a turn, he locked up the fronts.. I immediately turned to see the panic on his face - yelled "LET GO OF THE BRAKE" - then again and again louder and louder.....we went off the road and into a ditch (on my side) - I turned to him and said, why didnt you let go of the brakes!!! He says "if I wouold have, we would have crashed"
well that logic is tough to argue with huh

happens that a buddy with a 4x4 was following us (who also drove on the same section of road but not only had to deal with the icy turn, but a sliding Vanagon n front of him - and DIDNT CRASH) pulled us out of the ditch...the van would not roll... we figured we broke something, and after several minutes of checking realized my brother bent the brakes pedal pressing it so hard that it was hanging up on the body (the pedal goes thru the floor to a pivot point under the body) with some effort we got it to clear
All I could think is "Man good thing you pushed the brakes so hard or we would have crashed"
