Found a 996 hardtop on the Raleigh craigslist @ $600. No affiliation, just passing it along in case any locals are searching.

I would have joined you guys but it was just a drive in and leave after installation type of deal since I had lots to do at home today.
The top isn't perfect but it's good enough for what I intend to use it for!

Sounds like a complete overreaction on your friend's part. It is a simple case of mistaken identity. I would simply call the Leith phone number on the card (once I verified it was legit), tell them who I am and who I am not. Case closed. No cease and desist needed. No threaten with lawsuit needed. With all the contacts we have here locally with Leith it wouldn't take but a few minutes to get straightened out. Leith isn't the bad guy here. The bad check writer is.
As far as the guy that has written the bad check, my guess is he is a ghost and Leith assumed your friend was him since he was able to be found.

Again, complete overreaction. Threat was all it was. Do you think Leith has the ability to tell the Cary PD to go arrest somebody? They have much more important crap to deal with. If you are looking for advice, start a thread over in OT.
