The weather looks perfect.......no rain...no 19 degrees early Saturday morning......maybe I'll win the lottery this weekend as well........

What an amazing weekend! 3 days at VIR with temps in the hi 60's to low 70's and clear skies. Had about 15 or so guys from the coffee crew attend and several of them were new to the track doing a DE for the first time!
Here's a few snaps form my camera..............
1st pic is me coming to southbend exiting the climbing esses at dusk.
2nd pic is what we woke up to every morning staying at the Villas
3rd pic is Scott climbing the esses
4th pic is me and Marty (our CI) illustrating "open passing" in the climbing esses. Pucker moment?
5th pic is my boy getting help from his buddy about what tires he should be getting next. R-comps of course
6th pic (courtesy of Bruce) is my little boy living a rough life surrounding by the beautiful girls belonging to Bruce.
7th pic (courtesy of Bruce) is the SCR compound in the paddock

My pics are similar toDell's. Nothing too outstanding at the event this weekend to snap. There was a nice 997 GT3RS and I'm sure there will be a couple pictures of it posted.

It was a perfect weekend! Personally, I want to thank everyone who participated from our Cary/Apex group. You made it a richer experience for me, and I learned so much from you all. I especially want to thank Dell for taking me out in the Turbo - is there anything you can't drive fast? And to Scott for helping me with all of my questions - especially the tire pressure and brakes.
I'm working on a video of my spin in South Bend on the last session. It was minor, but I'll never underestimate the combined effects of too early into the turn (overly excited), plus too much throttle before the descent (still overly excited), and tires that aren't quite warmed up enough (first lap after yellow flag). Fortunately, I got back on track and drove some of the best laps I ran all weekend.
When is the next DE?

First Settlers spring 2011 event is 20-22 May at VIR, 3 days on the Full Course. Registration is via www.motorsportreg.com and will open 20 Feb.
Just sayin....
