Debadge or No?

I think it looks a lot cleaner. That is the first thing I am going to move from my car, with the US bumper "thing".
It is funny to have a bagde if you put a carrera on a turbo. We have one customer that has put 316 og his 335i. That I like.

thanks Fly as the only guy that actually posted a picture so far
Would NEVER advertise the car as something greater than it is by putting something else like "turbo" or some such nonsense. That drives me nuts. In fact on my track 914 I left the 2.0 badge on the back even though I had a bigger motor. Anyone have just the rear end without wing or other add-ons with no badge? I have a feeling that it looks better with the script on seal gray to keep the back end from being to monotone....

I can see this turning into a long debate over personal preference...personally I don't care for them and like the cleaner look. I'd take the center BMW badge off of the M3 if it didn't leave a recess on the trunk.

Whatever floats your boat. It's a personal call, it seems to me. But I'll say this: I think the popular belief is that nobody debadges a car to hide it's power. They do it in the hope that you'll think it's more than it is. When I was a BMW guy, the only cars without badges in the E36 world were the 318i. If you like the cleaner look, then that's all the rationale you need. But if you care about how it's perceived (and by asking the question here, I have to assume you do), just know that real enthusiasts are as likely to roll their eyes as not.

I dont care about perceptions - I used to drive a 914 - and I get (and dislike) the poseur attitude for sure. I dont like yellow calipers on non PCCB cars, crazy bodykits that look tacked on, and badging that says the car is more than it is.
I dont think any real enthusiast that knows these cars would confuse a C2 with any other variant with just the badge missing, right? Bumpers are different, no side scoops like on the turbo, etc... Honestly I dont give two farts what other people think of my car as it is for my enjoyment not theirs. Outside of those that know these cars, it is just the generic "Porsh" anyway so the mainstream doesnt know the difference.
This whole concept of skin deep mods is new to me anyway with most of my p-car time spent on the track over the last 18 years....
