Very few Porsches in Germany carry the Carrera badge. I think you can order the cars without the badge actually. I've removed mine from my 89, 3.2 and my 996. I think it looks great without.

Red - after some research I've decided to go with the Evo. TPC has that very annoying whine along with some negative feedback, although there not that far away from me.
I'm going to try and see if there is some flexibility in pricing with the Evo, which vendor did you buy from?
I can see myself keeping this car for a very long time esp due to the miles currently on it.

That's correct. Mine was originally ordered this way. There's even an option code for this, at least on the 997s. It's 498. To me, this sort of legitimizes debadging the car, but it's still not to my own taste to do so.
(The badge was in an envelope in the trunk when I got mine).

i know the M cars can be ordered sans badge from factory not that this makes it special or anything.
