I need advice; I have a 1999 cab 996 and need to know what recommendation for child booster seats (2 seats, twin 3yr old boys new in my life) that will fit into the “back seats”. Do you recommend removing the bottom cushions? Where can I purchase theses … probably on line?

I am not sure about the booster seat as I have the baby seat still, but I also removed the seat back so the passenger would have more room. I think the cab back seat is more "vertical" than the coupe, so removing the back helped and its only a 10 minute job.

Try a search, there is a lot of info on the topic.

Thanks, for the info. I have tried a search but everything that came up was back in 2005 & i'm not sure if the seat versions are still available. The 3 yr olds love to set in the car and go up and down the drive so I want to find a safe way to take them for a ride. The state law at this time does not require them to be in a booster but I am not sure if it is safe enough. However, the confinement of the setting area mybe equally safe.

Chad, the Parkway is a booster seat, right? The kid uses the regular seatbelt in the car and the seat just sits in place when it's not being used?

I hate to plug Wally World, but last night I picked up a "Cosco High Back Booster" with the little 5-point harness for my 2yo, for 22-80lbs.

$43. Cheap but good quality, and it fits nicely in my Coupe without removing anything.

I had the same problem when I was searching, it took a while, but here are a few. My 2 y/o ldaughter loves to go for rides. Remember, the cab and coupe rear seats are a bit different, I would remove both the seat bottoms and backs. Some stores will even let you take a display seat out to your car to check fitment.

Best booster seat I ever had was a Fisher-Price unit I bought at Canadian Tire for $79. This was several years ago but it fit fine in my 928 and in my 996 because it didn't have any sort of a "platform" on the bottom. It was basically a sporty-looking bucket seat that fit really nicely in the relatively narrow back seats on both of those cars. We're talking about "booster" seats right? The kind that don't have their own restraints - you use the seatbelts already mounted in the car.

My 23 year old twins rarely even ride in my car! Only one of them can drive a manual. No car seat issues here. Enjoy your babies!! There's nothing more wonderful than twins!

That's because they no longer get a kick out of sitting in the car parked in the driveway and listening to you make vrrooommm noises!

Thanks to everyone for all the advise. I will look into the two different seats and hopefully have the boys enjoying the rush of air through their hair as they are thrilled by the growling exhaust sound. It is great to have a couple of guys enjoy it so much. I have 18 & 19 year old daughters as well and they love my car but it is just for the flash. Thanks again
New question, I found out yesterday I need to replace pads and rotors on the 996 cab, is there a recommendation other than OEM?

Best booster for a cab is made by Britax. They're the company that made them for Porsche.
The base is narrow enough that it fits the back seat perfectly.
I also installed a side passenger airbag deactivation kit so that my 5 year old can ride up front as well.

Cheers,
Stan
